What did we learn today??? 2 things.. Crazy how much Glenn improved over the last couple of months and bass players can't even mute their strings. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you don't smoke weed all day and play Mario kart. Edit. I like this joke actually triggered some bass players. I guess it hit too close to home. Mr. Fricker. Thank you for reviewing my black metal project: Nocturnal Serpent last night. I am in the processing of fixing the mix as you recommended. I plan to submit it again next week on your Mix Review show so you can critique the difference. Thanks again.
I was debating whether I should get the pedal or not, but after seeing you review it makes me really want to get the pedal now. Thank you Glenn for posting this video and giving us your thoughts on it, I’ll definitely be getting the pedal now!
Really liked this intro where you just say hey everybody in a positive tone of voice like you're excited. That was genuine excitement not UA-cam excitement. Thanks Glenn.
What I like about your pedal reviews in particular is you play both rhythm and leads. I just watched a review of a distortion pedal on a normally great channel that may sound awesome but the guitarist only played solos the entire time. On a pedal that’s known for being used on rhythm. And honestly, to really hear the sonics you need a nice sustained chord every now and then. Also, you put them through a mix which is obviously the most important thing for a recording guitarist. I know it’s common sense to do this stuff but all too often even the most respected demo guys forget why we’re watching. Thanks Glenn.

I've really enjoyed that pedal immensely and think it could do with more attention. Keep up the good work!
It probably sounds thin on clean channels for the same reason a tube screamer does. It might just be made to tighten low end + add attack on a dirty channel
Glen man, you're ripping the shit out of a guitar nowadays. Good stuff man. Definitely putting this pedal on my wishlist. Think they probably should have added a gate to it as well.
Seems like a cool pedal otherwise, but kinda makes you wonder why they didn't also put a noise gate into it, since it's supposed to be an all in one kind of solution.
Better than expected, I don't get hyped for pedals much anymore. Looking forward to the new vintage 30s demo, assume that was filmed last week but not posted yet as I don't see it, also the experiments with sanding V30s if that's still on the cards. also any chance you'd release an IR for that Happy Cab/Celestion Black back setup you've been using?
I find jeffs signature pickups to be a little on the dark side, maybe thats why the pedal sounds a little bright. I bet it sounds awesome with my Schecter JL-7.
I'm not crazy about the tone of this pedal right off the bat, but my first thought was that it'd probably sound good in a mix, which is all that really matters. I'd love to hear it with a Dual Rec.

Wow this is really impressive! Especially on leads! On it's own i was like this is okay, but in a mix, night and day! it allows it to really cut through, which is something I've always liked about how Loomis' tone was mixed. is it worth 350 bucks though? Not for me. But if i was a performing live a lot and wanted to take a studio sound on the road with me without a kemper/axefx, it would be an easy yes.
It would sound much better in a mix. That's the whole point right? Because it covers the high end frequencies so well, a really deep, snarly Bass tone would fit with it incredibly.
I have no idea who Jeff Loomis is, but the pedal looks nice, sounds nice and has a lot of features. A bit salty on the price, but I think it's only fair. I love the "bite" it adds to the amp sound and the built-in delay/reverb is a handy tool. BUT I don't think you used it to its full potential in the mix. It really sounds a lot like your other mixes. Could just be me, though.

Hey Glenn, could you share the names/channels of the people that played in the mix? Really enjoyed their playing and would love to see more of that they do
I’m a bass player and strange metal box of devil sound good. Glenn good at other shorter bass with skinny strings. Come with silica gel packet? Torr love little pebbles inside. It like gum.
Pedal sounds good. Is it better than the OD, reverb, and delays I have now? No. But if I had none of them, this would be a great addition and probably end up costing less money.
What I really like about your guitar product reviews is the perspective compared to the top end guys like Tubbs, Hermanns, Thorn etc. Hearing what this product sounds like from just a beginner, intermediate player shows us beginners out here what it will most likely sound like for us as the sounds are never as dialed in the same. I know you hate the "tone is in the hands" comments but the fact is that it's true. There are subtleties that can't be measure with science, but like it or not, how you play is a huge part of how you sound. No need for science; just need to listen to your own demo guys. But again, just a guy without the same level of dynamics in his playing with a more linear clobbering style is more in line with most of us listening out here will sound like through the same shit.
Glenn, thanks for doing all this youtube stuff. I am kinda thinking recently its time to move my digital recording back to a full PC. I recorded on my PC from 1998-2016 and switched to the lazy but quick and convenient iPhone garageband method and got a Presonus interface for iphones. I am now thinking I am missing on benefits from the PC, but am I really? Have you cosidered seeing how good a mix you can get on a mobile phone or garageband or bandlab specifically?
The boost is nice and fat. The overdrive sounds pretty good as well. But probably my favorite feature of this pedal would be the delay for soloing. The tails of the delay remind me somewhat of an old tape delay. Nice!
I was hoping this pedal was an all in one amp/cab simulator, something along the lines of an iridium or the Universal Audio pedals. It would be greatly useful in a live scenario to have the ability to send a decent sounding direct line to FOH even if you have a cab on stage for stage volume.
Hey everyone! I just purchased a Tegeler VTC compressor from germany and it just came in today. I have a few questions that are urgent so I can use it! First, It came with a euro power cord. Can I simply switch this out for an amaerican power cord? It also came over with different fuses by default. Which fuse should I buy so it work? I've already switched the voltage to 115v, but I am afraid to try and power it on without the first two questions answered. Can someone PLEASE HELP!!!

4 cable method pedals are a nightmare. I have never used one that didn't need to go through an ISO transformer to get rid of the ground loop. The only pedal where I would tolerate it is a noise gate because there is no other way to get it to function properly, but something with a drive and delay?
