I'm going to assume this house is popular with students, hence all the bedrooms and bathrooms. so the owners probably just tried to cram an extra bathroom in so they can change whoever stays up there extra money because they have their own bathroom.
It's quite stupid to have what I assume the roof line or possible attic area come down that far into your usable space just for the sake of having another bathroom.
