Pan hard rod bushes. My Defender had the death wobbles, fully replaced swivel pins and steering damper. Still no good. Replaced pan hard rod bushes and fixed it.
been a long time : ) kids makes everything worthwhile . it gives your life meaning , as jordan peterson would say. have tightened a few things up so is better but the problem is still there somewhere. got several tips to check , from comments . so will go thru those shortly at mechanics . think my mechanic getting sick of me tho 😂😀
@@DriftaCamping4WD Luke, I had a similar problem and had done the Panhard rod bushes and it was good for a while, then it came back worse than ever. We replaced everything and I mean everything even 4 new tyres. In the end I went to a power steering and CV joint specialist in Slacks creek and they checked it and said the panhard bushed were buggered and I said I had only done them a few months before, but sure enough they were buggered. I had fitted Nolathane bushes and when I pulled them apart I found the steel sleeves had rusted badly and chewed out the bushes. Apparently this is a common problem. So a set of the original style bushes and she drives like new again. The lesson I learnt from this is, just because I've already done something don't rule it out and check it again.

@@DriftaCamping4WD yeah you want to be checking all your front end suspension and steering components check for any play in any bushes or the ball joints in tie rods and panhards etc it’s pretty much a process of elimination unfortunately I had to do all my bushes ball joints and steering box to fix my pig!
Hey Luke.. i had the same issues with the wobbles.it was so bad when on the brakes only. I have 35s and did everything to fix it... then i got a split in the brake booster, so upgraded to the marks hydro booster that runs off the powersteering pump, and it completely took the death wobbles away... nothing else got changed i already had braided lines ect, i noticed the difference straight away..
