I'm enjoying following your progress Stephen. I'm also mentally taking notes. This year might be my year to tackle the Camino. Bon voyage. X

Leaving in 18 days for my first Camino! Depending on the weather, I was planning on going the Route de Napoleon. After seeing your video may be reconsidering through Valcarlos. I just subscribed to your videos which are very helpful as I prepare for my journey!

I know you can't go over the Napoleon route in the winter but it is awesome. You kinda missed out with that. Going over the Pyrenees is fantastic, you had to take the other route.

Hi Stephen, I thought the accommodation at Roncesvalles was meant to be one of the best, it didn't look that great, looks different to the rooms on their website..?

This is the winter accommodation, the new albergue is closed then. The new place is indeed lovely.

Can I ask some advice? I've left the trip open ended as in that I've no return flight booked yet. So i'm planning 42 days for resting etc....would you say it's worth booking later on in the trip or do it tonight before i leave maybe? Dub here as well. Good to see an Irishman do videos worth watching pal. Cheers.

Daniel Crowe to be honest 42 days is loads. And depending on who u meet you may not want to take rest days. I had originally planned 3 rest days but only took 1 because I didnt want to fall behind the friends Id made. So it only took me 30 days of walking. If u arrive early to Santiago its a decent place to stay an extra day or 2. Porto is only 4 hours by coach so its worth a visit too, maybe book a flight home to Dublin from there. Always an option. But if u booked flight home now there wud be nothing to worry about. 42 days is loads. S

Nice set of videos. What are you using to record and edit?

Loving your coverage of The Way but I have a few suggestions for you too. Don't pan so quickly and stabilize your videos when you post them to UA-cam. I will love the results!! Buen Camino Peregrino!

Excellent! I love your videos too! It's quite fascinating to watch a pilgrim walk along the way in the winter! Love the snowy scenes!! Great job and keep it going!

Get a buff. They are face masks they sell on the route. Protects your face from sun and wind.
