Great video! After so many years I always wonder if people still attend to their channel? I bought one of these bikes new and almost forgot I ever owned it until I found out that the guy I sold it to still had and never rides it! After seeing your video I’m going to try and buy it back. Thanks for the inspiration.
My first big bike after passing my CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) in London, of all places! It felt like riding a comfy old sofa on two wheels after passing my test on a Honda H100! The radiator at the front started leaking after a few months and a bunch of c*nts in Ralston put new discs in the front brakes but didn't clean them out so the discs were red hot with friction after a few minutes....fuxxake. Sold my XJ550 soon after as I was only making £20 a week to live on! Awesome bike!
Have a xj550 from i think it was 1983 that I'm right now trying to get into a garage for the winter (and hopefully some much needed attention) that said I got it for free, the previous owner had enough of it after it started to drown itself while just standing on idle for a while and stop, my cousin who had it in storage for him told him that I was looking fpr a bike since I was going to get the license and wanted something to do in the meantime, so he said that I could take it off his hand if he wanted to, said and done if I came tp get it I gpt it for free he said so didn't even think twize about it but went there next day and got it home (even got an extra carb from the guy in mint condition barely been on a bike it seems) haven't sadly got the license yet and had any chance of getting anything done with it due to getting unemployed and my dad who's always been the go to biker guy in my family having heart conditions, so now I'm looking far and wide for a garage to get this buty under roof before the snow comes and hopefully it will sort itself out in the spring and me and my fsther might have something to do together as it was supposed to from the beginning. Great video enyojable and beautiful roads to be riding on!
