Studebaker never made an ugly car. '51 Champion was what my parents brought me home from the hospital in when I was a baby in 1963. One day I will buy a Champion.
A farmer who lives around Bluffton Ohio had one of those studebakers that was his wife's and also a couple of Studebaker Hawks and he told me I can have my choice for a hundred and a half this is back in the seventies
@@davidwelsford3189 Then I guess an incorrect picture (of a '50) was used as the preview image for the video. It definitely shows the two-piece, all-metal bullet, the oval "nostrils", and the recessed gtilles.
Had the very same model (10G-W5) in the same Maui Blue as well. Nicely done here - though a warmer/fresher battery to give faster crank speed may have sped things up...
1:45 It's the 1951 grille and plastic nose cone center, it's a '51. BUT at 4:12 they are working on a 1950 model - They take the starter off the '50 to put on the '51. Got to pay attention !
I just love them 1950 & 51 bullet nose Studebakers.... would love to own one
STOP using that spray shit!! You're washing the oil off the cylinder walls. I cringe every time I see this shit. Trickle some fuel in there!
I'm happy to see this comment, better off pouring old weed wacker gas in the girl.
This is sweet. South Bend engineering, better than the crap they build in 2021.
Please take easy on the starter fluid, too much and it washes the oil of the cylinder, better to fill the carburetor witj fuel
that and run a gallon or so of racing fuel through it...mixed with regular fuel..say also two or three gallons..will get rid of built up varnish

Hopefully you still have it ‼️
1:45 That's a relief! The thumbnail shows a 1950 model.
If that's the original front end, that's a '50 Champion, not a '51.
Nope - it's a 51 alright. Bumper strut cover pan, taillight rings, plastic nose cone, etc.
