I like the approach you used to do this filter. If you want to get the most out of your filter, try the following. You want the water to travel from the bottom of the plastic bottle to the top. Only have your holes in the first 1cm. Don't have large sized holes as this allow certain fish access to the foam to nibble on. That is not good for the fish. Place a layer of crushed coral pieces to help slow the water and capture heavy waste. It also helps to control the ph level of the tank. Then grade the form layers from biggest holes to the finest, smallest holes. (Alternating colours looks nice, but you're trying to get the foam filters to each remove the appropriately sized waste.) The 2nd last layer should be the white fiber foam to "polish" the water. The last layer should be thin layer of course foam to stop any of the white polishing layer from being drawn up into the pump. Never use anything that is antibacterial, as that is not good for the "good" bacterial that helps your tank water. Add a tube to the outlet to push the water further into the tank to avoid reprocessing the water that just passed through the filter. Don't use the bio balls as they will at first grind against each other and wear down. This creates grit to be sucked into the pump and into the fish tank water. This is not good for the pump. As the foam becomes dirty, the water will not easily pass through the foam. That will lift the foam towards the pump, jamming the bio balls together. The white polishing foam is very easy to become compressed which is when you need to do maintenance on the filter. Try using high pressure water to flush the foam filters to wash out 99% of the fish waste. Pack the foam tightly as water will try to find the easiest path, so any gaps that open up will bypass the foam. When you put the filter in the corner of the tank, add some gravel between the filter and the glass to stop the filter being jammed against the glass, stopping the holes from being able to suck in dirty water.

Good day to you sir. You will dismantle the bottle to pull out the filter wool to change it. It is a small bottle. I think that would be easy. 😊😁 Thank you and happy fish keeping 🐠😁😀
