India and Sri Lanka faced each other in the 1st ODI at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka. The hosts batted first and posted 230 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. During the chase, India started their batting well but lost their way in the middle overs. Sri Lanka managed to get wickets in regular intervals and finally made India all out to end a thrilling match in a tie.
