My partner and I are planning a SoCal parks vacation for Feb 2025 and your videos are super helpful for planning! I saw Knotts & Disney both have food festivals in March so were considering pushing it but I want to avoid the spring breaks crowds. Do you find its still "spring break level" busy the first week its open?

Oh that was so fun I miss those festivals I grew up in SoCal and we hit the boysenberry Festival every year. Of course it's much more sophisticated now back then berries and ice cream, pie and cake

2019 Boysenberry Festival was still the best...and there was a lot of boysenberry flavors then.
Remember Scream Break is coming up at Six Flags, if you need that Halloween fix! Last years, while new and small...was pretty fun! The actors killed it and the vibe was great

It was some years back, they had a 2 foot long hot dog, I ate that single handedly by myself. Lol I've gone through one tasting by myself and still be hungry afterwards lol

I rather pay out of pocket for the food. I'd get the 6 tasting card and get 5 alcoholic drinks with it and use one of them for food. (I may purchase one or two food items out of pocket.) Alcoholic drinks at knotts were 18 dollars last year so do the math man. 🤣
Whats the price for the tasting card?
Is the tasting card a one day use only or can you use it for a few tastings and then use the rest of the tastings on your next visit during the boysenberry festival ?
It’s good for the entire duration of the event.
The 1st dish you tried looked like there was a packet of the soy sauce for you to add to it
Well the dish was supposed to come with a Boysenberry soy sauce but ours was just regular. So maybe they accidentally put in normal packets.
Boysenberry festival or food and wine 🤔
Boysenberry Festival. Tasting card includes drinks, portions are bigger and the value of the overall event is pretty good.
That's a very hard pass for me, I get that it's a boysenberry festival, but that flavor does not belong on all foods. I'm reminded of a trip to Kauai I took a while back, my wife absolutely had to try the Puka Dog, which is like a bagel dog with some sweet "stuff" squirted in it (mango flavor, pineapple flavor, etc) and well I almost Puka'd from it hot dogs and fruity sweet flavors just don't mix for me.
Not everything is going to have a sweet candy flavor. It clearly is a subtle thing in a lot of savory dishes. You honestly might like it but if not then Food and Wine at DCA might be the better event.

You driving me nuts! Why don't you show the menu. Does it say there is boysenberry flavor on the first two? I'm glad you found the flavor a little in the third but maybe you were imagining it lol
Everything is supposed to have a boysenberry component to it but in some items it just wasn’t there as much as I thought.
