hehehe maybe I'll do a silly songs of sewing album one day! I did make an individual posting for the song. It loops it 3 times ua-cam.com/video/btWDG_L3vUs/v-deo.html enjoy!!!
i'm preparing my original patterns and plan to digitize them before 2024, so thank you so much for this video! it has been my bible in creating my promotions, instructional book and grading files :)
Yaaay I am so glad of that!! I do this about 3 or 4 times every time I make a new pattern so I wanted to invite you into what I find to be a very satisfying and easy process :)
I was having the same issue. I played around with printing options (while using Adobe Reader) and ended up having to go against what Lydia said and picked "Shrink oversized pages". Each of the rectangles were indeed 7x10in doing it this way, so I'm assuming it worked ok. I have some old Canon iP2800 so I'm not sure if it's the printers fault or what, but yeah choosing the actual size or 100% made things cut off.
@@venukikoralage4924 can you access the scale or settings at all? you may have to scale it up if its not showing up at 100% in your print preview. If you can access the scale try changing it to 100% and printing page 1 and 2, measure the test square on page one and make sure the outline square fro page two is 7 by 10 inches.
How does one Make a PDF pattern, I'm making a Jacket from a Film and i want to make a PDF jut in case others also want a copy of the jacket. how does that work? any tips??
One thing you could do it tape your pattern to a bunch of 8.5x11 or A4 papers and then scan each piece. Then trace it out on Illustrator. Otherwise you could take a picture of it with a ruler and add it to Illustrator and make sure its properly scaled using the ruler.
You can change my files into DXF if you open them in Illustrator then resave them. I don't have demand for this and I already include a lot of different files so I have to provide the ones that are most popular.
I'm not sure why I'm having so many problems printing... Adobe won't print it, so I have to download as a pdf and print it through my printer's software (HP Smart). My test sheet and the first 7 pages printed perfectly to scale and the rest came out more narrow? like 5.5x10 instead of 7x10. It's so weird! It changed in the middle of printing, so it's not like I fumbled with settings. I'm very confused lol I've tried "custom scale: 100%"vs "actual size," orientation as auto vs portrait. Nothing seems to fix it. Edit: I've fumbled with more things trying to print it, and the test page still comes out great, but it's like every page I print has different dimensions? 10x 6.75, 10x7.5. So bizarre!!! Edit 2: After many hours, wasted pages, and ink, I just had to restart my computer and it allowed me to print straight from adobe with no scaling issues lol *face palm*
I followed all the instructions but for some reason it's only printing one square of each page??? My settings are the same as yours in the video... please help!
is it printing really tiny? Sometimes there are hidden settings or its an older version and it doesn't work right. If so change the scale to 1000%. Im going to be updating all of my patterns so that there is no chance of this happening!
HELP!!! whenever i click actual size on the print screen and then print, it only prints out a small centre square of each page. Like it doesnt split up the page into small even squares, it just prints a small square in the centre of each page. what do i do?????
Try printing at 1000% and measure the test square. What you are seeing is a 10% scale of the printout. You may have a setting that is messing with the scale.
omg never mind. I just realised ive been printing off the wrong pdf, the one without any of the page number things. Im such an idiot. oh well, all is well now.
@@LydiaNaomi thanks. God I really need to look before I print🤦♀️🤦♀️ haha oh well at least I won’t make that same mistake again🤞. Thanks for the free pattern. as a beginner I really appreciate it. If I can manage this one I’ll definitely be visiting your Etsy shop. All the patterns are so pretty💕💕
Yes, if your print preview is showing up tiny in another program. print at 1000% scale and check the test squares to make sure it prints correctly. I am hoping to update all my patterns to be compatible with all programs.
This song is going to be stuck in my head ALL week. We need a spotify drop so I can listen on repeat haha

Is it possible to do it on my iPad or do I have to do it on a computer??
Not an issue either way, it’s more for practicality 🥰
I think some people have had trouble on their ipad, but its worth a shot!
my test print is off by 2mm and I'm printing it exactly how you stated :( its not much but it worries me
Did you use Adobe Acrobat? If you don't it will print small.
@@LydiaNaomi yep! It's okay I think it's just my old printer. Bringing your pattern to a shop trm and hopefully it prints correctly!

hiiii do u mind telling how to print in scale using phone? also when using the app do i need to buy premium?
The free Acrobat app should work. Does it not?
@@LydiaNaomi when using my phone i can’t like change the scale to make it 100% idk y
