Guys, for those who said this is a game crash/server disconnect, that usually takes a lot of time for your car to disappear. First your car becomes "driveless", drives off the road and then 20 secs later you disappear. This case, it was pretty instant indicating a manual "quit to freeroam".

Exactly, that’s what I would call true/clean defensive race driving in Forza. Block any entry points for the guy behind when you see him trying to overtake which keeps you ahead and in the lead. If he ends up making it past, well you tried.
How beautiful is when at the last half mile, have head to head with the opponent and not trying to ram each other, and you win or lose just with milliseconds difference. It's not often, but still happens in Forza

As a forza motorsport player it's hilarious coming to horizon and seeing how people race, the Co op missions they ram their own teams hahahah all you need to do is break before a corner and you have a win 9.5/10
It boils my blood when this happens like are people not reading the instructions lol They fuck it up for your other teammates too I’ve had instances where half of my team is in the top and the a few other teammates come up and ram them out causing them to crash or miss a checkpoint and crash themselves too And just fucking it up for everyone and making us all lose jus cus they can’t follow simple instructions or play as a team

It's amazing how many people just can't handle being passed. Had a dude do this to 4 of us last night in CC. Pushed us all off the straightaways, still got passed, couldn't catch back up, and left. It's almost more satisfying that way lol.

I was doing an off-road race yesterday with the Ford ranger raptor in A class. There was this guy that kept raming people into the walls on most of the turns to gain positions. (I was in first, the ranger raptor is very OP in A class). The guy was in fourth place so knowing we were only 10% into the race I could move back and still finish first over all three races and smoke this guy and cause him to get last place. (this was the last race) I moved back into fifth place before a 90 degree corner and drifted I into him and he must’ve stalled because he went back all the way to last place and then rage quit. After I did that people were going crazy in the chat. I still some how still got second place!

I was also surprised what you meant with chat - the Forza link? But I think you meant the in-game voice chat that Rusher mentioned? That's interesting then, because since the beginning of FH4 I barely heard people talking there. Only few times it was 1 or 2 people talking in-game.
Love to see the rammmers' struggle. It's like the most satisfying thing in this game. Once had a dude who kept tailgating me in a street race and as he was about to slam me into a wall he crashed into an AI and quit. So refreshing.
i was obviously much faster than a guy in front of me and every time i tried to pass, this dude was blocking me and pushing me off the track in the TRIAL. i literally had to Daniil Kvyat torpedo him in a corner to pass and he messaged me "0 skill".... bruh you're blocking me in a CO-OP RACE AGAINST DRIVATARS
here's a cool tip to dodge rammers: Please take advantage of the "engine brake". At a higher gear, at lower RPMs, it takes longer for your car to slow down. At a lower gear in high RPMs the car slows down quicker. Shifting down to enter higher RPMs will make braking more effective, and is useful if your reaction times to rammers aren't that good. If a rammer tries to run you off the road, use this engine braking method to send them flying, works everytime for me.
Happened to me, just the other day. I braked before the last corner and the rammer runs into the corner to quickly and slammed into the wall. And he raged quitted. Guys like that can continue to race without discipline if they want, not me.

Is it ok to ram another rammer off the track because he messes others up I can explain: so it was fh4 and I was doing a ranked race and this guy in a mono kept pushing everyone into the walls and off the track so in the last race I got on the inside lane and didn’t let him turn for the corner making him miss the check point

Was in the same race in class "B", found a fun player. We kept overtaking each-other and both of us kept giving snarky comments like "look out", "passing through" etc. I was so concentrated in overtaking that i forgot there was a hard turn, accidentally rammed him in the corner. I won but felt so bad, he quit in the next race
The most annoying and abundant abuse is the one where people cut you in the corner at a higher speeds by bumping into your car as a crutch to corner faster.
It is quite a shame, as he was pretty decent at driving. If he would invest some points into "racing line" rather than "ramming" he would not need to ram at all.
After enduring my two years of FH4 online experience, I've joined FH5 as a much stronger man than I ever was. Now I play online with "a show no mercy" policy. I never ram people but if somebody rams me my sole purpose in that race (and the coming races) becomes making their life a soft representation of Hell. Just a few days ago some kid in a lotus elise rammed me off, making me miss the checkpoint. The next race I just went a little ahead of him started braking until we were the last two moving slower than a stock peel p50. All the while I'm also spamming the customary "Nice Driving". He manages to pass me on a turn but he's frustrated and hits the wall getting a penalty so this time I speed away leaving him behind still spamming "Nice Driving". Soon I finish the race. I look at the scoreboard to see if my Lotus friend had made it but oh no... where is he?... A large cross can be seen along his name. I take a sigh of relief, feeling the satifaction of revenge. Left without any purpose, I leave the next race and start over, maybe hoping to find my next victim.
How about a safety rating system, based on how many contacts you have with other players (not AI), that show over the car so other players can see how clean/dirty you are? And then group people up based on safety rating if there are enough players. Also if you had a good safety rating, it wouldn't go up a lot if you made contact with someone with a bad safety rating. I know this is a fun arcade racer, but they could use the game to test and balance the system for Forza Motorsport. And while this game should have few penalties (just like described above), they could turn up the penalties in Forza Motorsport after they have tested and balanced the system in this game.

I mean it’s not like the game isn’t checking to see your average collisions per race. The game could in theory try to pair you with people in certain brackets of collision average. But then again, it’s FH so that’s wishful thinking.
I can't even say I'm surprised by looking at that BMW. 😅 So golden that he was so salty about not being able to get a dirty win against you and knowing he lacked the skill to even chase you so he rage quits.
The key there is hard ramming. I'm not sure entirely what the ghosting system is set up to, but as an example, their system reads speed difference mainly. So if there is a speed difference, of say 20mph, it would ghost out. Any speed difference below that keeps vehicles solid. So if you are going the same speed, or relatively same speed, you can still be rammed.

Nice! I had two guys try to take me out because I dominated first of the horizon tour races, next race they tried to kinda pit maneuver me from rear right and the other guy swipe me sideways from other side. Saw this coming so I just braked hard and pulled left to go around the guy sideswiping, they hit each other wiping themselves out and placing last. They did not log out tho next round they kinda drove nice.

More dirty rammers getting whats owed please. Vicariously I get a huge satisfaction from those videos!
How about a safety rating system, based on how many contacts you have with other players (not AI), that show over the car so other players can see how clean/dirty you are? And then group people up based on safety rating if there are enough players. Also if you had a good safety rating, it wouldn't go up a lot if you made contact with someone with a bad safety rating. I know this is a fun arcade racer, but they could use the game to test and balance the system for Forza Motorsport. And while this game should have few penalties (just like described above), they could turn up the penalties in Forza Motorsport after they have tested and balanced the system in this game.

that would suck possibly. especially if you were new and accidentally traded paint but not exactly "ramming" - youd be put into lobbies with trolls and hate the game so fast.
I mean it’s not like the game isn’t checking to see your average collisions per race. The game could in theory try to pair you with people in certain brackets of collision average. But then again, it’s FH so that’s wishful thinking.

Hopefully they re-add the 2 second slowdown to FH5 soon. The ghost through is nice, but it doesn't help much with the "pushers"

I thought forza had a system to prevent hard ramming,I've played a few MP races and it's not fun especially when your pushed outside a checkpoint
The key there is hard ramming. I'm not sure entirely what the ghosting system is set up to, but as an example, their system reads speed difference mainly. So if there is a speed difference, of say 20mph, it would ghost out. Any speed difference below that keeps vehicles solid. So if you are going the same speed, or relatively same speed, you can still be rammed.

It’s unfortunate when rammers actually make you miss a checkpoint. Gutless/classless cheap driving like that is a dark side to this game. It’s very frustrating when you give space to other drivers with more pace but then there’s the weeping d holes that ram. Glad to see you put that worthless rammer in their rightful place!

Nice! I had two guys try to take me out because I dominated first of the horizon tour races, next race they tried to kinda pit maneuver me from rear right and the other guy swipe me sideways from other side. Saw this coming so I just braked hard and pulled left to go around the guy sideswiping, they hit each other wiping themselves out and placing last. They did not log out tho next round they kinda drove nice.
As a former Motorsport player, I don't get being sweaty or aggro in Horizon. Horizon is chill time 😎
