I just had a flashback to being a kid in the 90’s riding my bike across town to the local comic shop to buy Wizard and be dazzled by the art lessons in Brute and Babe. Amazing stuff this week
Bart quickly showed how to draw a foot using a simple method I’ve been generally warming up to over the last year. I tried it and it clicked into place on the first shot! I think I hate feet just a little less now.
David, I used to watch you all the time but when I looked at your art it was detailed. But now I love that because detail is fun and almost the whole reason I fell in love with comics and art.
He has a crowdfunder on for reprints of his two how to draw books right now. It ends on Friday I think. Stretch goals have been reached so that the new printings are going to have a new tutorial each! :D
Hey I met Bart sears at wizard world in like 99’ or 2000. Just a really nice guy even drew a little sketch when he signed my book. I’ll never forget that day because I also met jim lee and he was just a total prick. Smh. Oh and Marc silvestri and Michael turner were super cool and awesome as well.
Bart Sears is the man! Thanks David for having him on!
Definitely! Two drawing powerhouses!

Loved drawing along with you both! Thanks for having him on, David!
Great video, fantastic guest and hugely informative - thanks very much to all! That foot construction Bart demonstrated was jaw-dropping!
Bart Sears is the greatest technical comic book artist ever
So happy to see Dave and Erik again!

"Don't draw anything from the void." - Bart Sears. One of the most interesting art comments I've ever heard.

Such a huge fan of the influential Bart Sears! He and Brian Bolland are the reasons why I draw.
I’m bummed that I missed the livestream, but this was great!
Too bad I missed it! I hope somebody asked Mr Sears if he plans to restock his books 👍
