@@jlp1013it’s more accepted as canon that Dany’s eggs are older (possibly originating in Old Valyria) and were stolen long before this (by a woman named Elissa), and taken to Asshai before ending up in Pentos as a gift to Dany. Dany’s eggs were fossilized but when she made the deal with the witch (a life for a life) the magic and the fire hatched the eggs. But they may be trying to make it less canonized.
There's nothing for Alicent to figure out. She does realize the mistake, that she misunderstood Viserys, but also realizes that the conflict is too far gone. Aegon isn't giving up his throne, regardless of what Alicent or anyone else tells him of Viserys' true wishes.
Alicent arguably never really had a choice to begin with. After Viserys died and Alicent told them about his "last minute change of heart", their reaction was basically, "Oh. That's nice. Anyway, on to the plans we already had in place anyway." Otto was told by his older brother to push Aegon in episode 3 of the 1st season, and Otto told Alicent the same thing in episode 5. Rhaenyra's claim was always going to be challenged, regardless of anything Alicent wanted...
I still don't think Alicent is in a position to know anything concerning the prophecy. Her late husband mumbled of Aegon and she has a son of the same name. It was less of a devious power play than an affirmation of her son being the heir to throne, which for all intents and purposes, should have been the case all along. Prophecies are witches superstition and she's a devout follower of the faith. There is no mistake for her here, she is distraught because she sees the writing on the wall and feels partially to blame for it, especially for the murder of her grandson. All her life she's been put in impossible positions that diminish her for the sake of someone or something else.
But doesnt Rhaenyra also have a son named Aegon? I dont understand why Alicent would think, after everything the king put himself through on his very last day, that he changed his mind. For me it makes no sence unless she put what she and her father wanted first. She even explains it now to Rhaenyra that he was tired and hard to hear and didnt she give him milk of the poppy? Why keep Rhaenyra out of the council room after she heard what she thought she heard. Yes, Otto prob would have tried and take the throne from Rhaenyra but maybe it wouldnt have been so easy if they hadnt kept them out of the loop and done it the way they did. Alicent frustrates me so much and she may not ever have lied to Rhaenyra but always being fully honest, i think not.
Some people dont like That Rhaenyra took such a risk but i actually love it she believes that it is worth risking herself to prevent a war before risking thousands of innocent men which makes sense with the song of ice and fire prophecy
Not at all how she is in the books… At the end of season 1 she had a look of “Ok, let’s go to war” And now in season 2 she is doing everything but going to war…
@@6236_Versesthe book is a mere calculations of accounts that were written by maesters, who know what the truth is. And often history is written by victors how would we know what the true Rhaenyra was like.
@@6236_Verses I think all characters from the book have been given an extra dimension, maybe made softer think of Viserys, Daemon they weren't anywhere close to humane more archetype
@@6236_VersesYou need to go back and read F&B the way it was intended and the way it makes the most sense to, as a history book. A book “written” 100’s of years after the events by people who never met Rhaenyra or the others. The Maesters of the Citadel in Oldtown, who were located in the home of the faith, which was historically anti-Targaryen and quite sexist, but also where the Hightowers are from and Lord over. The book is not a completely “factual” or reliable representation of how the events might have actually gone down or how the characters might have actually been like, it’s just a biased perspective. It makes more sense that Rhaenyra would be like this when you actually delve into the book and analyse it critically.
Rhanyra is not trading her dragons to the arryns, she is simply given them dragons and riders for the duration of the war incase they should ever be attacked. That's why the two dragons being sent belong to little aegon and Joffrey. The arryns of the vale have a special fear of dragons, it's their castle's one weakness.
The dragons belong to little Aegon (stormcloud) and Joffrey (Tyraxes). Little viserys has no dragon, only an egg. Remember half of the Targaryens dont get to have their egg hatch, so they claim one as adults. The Aegon the Conqueror and his sisters, all three actually had to claim them.
Lots of people are complaining that this is a boring episode and just a filler episode. I disagree. I think it certainly helps move the story forward, especially for the next episode. We got some interesting new information this episode and the scene with Alicent and Rhaenyra was really good too. I enjoyed this episode.
Anything with no apparent "action" is boring to most people nowadays. It's kind of frustrating. I enjoyed this episode too. I've also read the book and that scene was never mentioned but Fire and Blood was written like a history book, so most informations and events that might be significant to the story might've been excluded, especially these indoor-secret ones. This may be a controversial take, but I prefer this takes on Rhaenyra's and Alicent's characters. They both have brimming guilts, self-control, and motivations, not just because they literally hate each other from the get go. I want both of them to be bloodthirsty though, that's the only thing that is missing. But I understand that it might flourish as the dance goes on. Hopefully so.
The boring part was that scooby doo ass plot with rhaeynra going to KL. The rest of the episode, while still the weakest of the season, was a foundation builder, and any true fan can appreciate that
@@hokagedlo6133 bruh the sept is literally in the middle of the city, a city that basically anyone can enter (for the time being) and she was lead into the room with alicent by guy who was paid to do so because he has the authority it's not like she ninja climbed into her bedroom at the red keep at night
I LOVE HotD and tbh I probably know the map of Westeros better than irl lol. But my problem with the episode is I don't like the way some scenes are shot and directed. It doesnt feel like the pedigree that is HotD or GOT, it actually has me a bit nervous. Some of the scenes with the solders arguing felt off. The acting, the way it was shot, everything about it. It felt like I was watching Rings of Power. Like as the show goes on, they forget the style and design language that made the show great. Some of the scene cuts just felt like Starwars. I didnt mind our SlayQueen visiting Kingslanding. But th transition felt a bit like they were visiting Bobafet or something.
@@superkoopatrooper4879 not sure what's exactly the problem with soldiers actually being people and not just pawns imo that's one aspect that GoT lacked heavily
Jack forgetting Rhaena doesn't have a dragon (like, what, 10 minutes after she said it?). Cannon thinking that big guy was Daeron, Alicent's son. You guys were all over the place. 😂
This episode should've been called "The Conciliator", considering they mentioned King Jaeherys the Conciliator two times and in the end Rhaenyra trying to conciliate things with Alicent.
She's not trading their dragons. The dragons in the cages are her sons dragons. Lady Jane of the Vale requested a dragon keep watch over the vale. Of course, they wanted a full grown dragon, but this is all Rhanerya is willing to sacrifice. And she is trying to keep her sons safe as well. Essentially the children and dragons will be the wards of the vale.
rhaenyra's cousin, lady jeyne arryn, requested a dragon to guard the vale in exchange for her support. rhaenyra is sending her youngest sons there with rhaena for safety. joffrey's dragon is tyraxes and aegon the younger's dragon is stormcloud.
About the visions, I want to bring attention to one nobody talks about. One specific vision weve been told of could have avoided this whole conflict, if it had been followed. And im thankful the person who saw the vision did not follow through on it, because then we would not get this amazing story :D Everyone seems to fully believe in Aegon's prophecy, which came to him in a dream and told him to go and conquer Westeros because the world would need Targaryens and their dragons to survive the long night. People also point out how you need to listen to Helena when she speaks, because she is a "Dreamer" and have visions about a lot of stuff. Like when she says Aemond would get a dragon but loose an eye. Viserys spoke of "dreamers" in the Targaryen line, people who could see visions of the future. In the books there are many prophecies mentioned within the bloodline of the Targaryens, like Dany receiving a vision showing the red wedding as an example, which was cut from GoT. The reason I bring this up is that everyone seems to forget about the vision that we have been told of twice in season 1 of House of the Dragon. The vision I talk about is Viserys' vision. Nobody in the fandom talks about it at all, at least not from what ive been able to find. Which kind shocks me. The song of ice and fire is brought up both in the world HotD and by fans. Why is this? (Aside from fans knowing its true thanks to GoT, and the charecters in HotD having a dagger with the song of fire and ice written down on it) I think it might be because Viserys did not do as the vision told him, unlike Aegon the conqueror. Aegon went and conquered westeros because his visions showed him it needed to be done. Viserys' vision told him he needed to put a son on the throne because all the dragons would roar as one when he did this. In other words, there would be no civil war between dragons if he had named Aegon heir. We are told this in episode 1 and episode 3 of season 1 by Visyrys himself. The vision is saying how civil war would be avoided, and the dragons saved, so there would be plenty for when the long night arrives. A civil war will result in the beginning of the end of dragons, and we know this because they aren't around anymore in GoT, not until Dany wakes 3 of them anyway. Just think about how difrently thing could have gone had Viserys followed his vision isntead of his heart. Viserys wanted so badly to believe he was a "dreamer", like we Helena and Aegon the conqueror is/where. And he actually was, the only difference between him and the Conqueror was that he did not follow through on what his vision told him to do. This was because of the grief he felt at the loss of his beloved wife, who died in his pursuit for a male heir. This made him question the vision, and ultimately let him to not name Aegon as the heir, despite the vision. I kind of feel like im the only one who remembers this vision, so just wanted to throw it into the discussion. As i feel like its an important piece that has been overlooked by fans:) (Sorry for any gramatical mistakes, english is not my first language)
I literally choked when I heard that lmao, "alright let's don't get to high with ourself bud" Book Ser Criston Cole is meant to be the greatest of his time. Nearly untouchable. Absolute top-tier with a morningstar. One the the best warriors that had existed and Jaime Lannister considers him a great. Only great fighters of his time he has no interaction with is Cregan Stark, Dalton Greyjoy, and Bloody Ben Blackwood, but I still think he could take nonetheless. He trained Aegon II. , Aemond and Daeron, and all turned out as brave and skilled warriors. Thanks to him Aemond became what he is - nuff said. I personally would put him amongst the top 10 Kingsguard fighters of all time, alongside Ryam Redwyne, Gwayne Corbray, Jaime Lannister, Barristan Selmy, Arthur Dayne, Gerold Hightower, Duncan The Tall and Aemon the Dragonknight. During his 1v1 with Hawin Strong, Criston hits the man's shield so hard with his mace that is breaks Harwins arm. He beats daemon in 1 on 1. fair and square and not by attacking him in the back while he's gloating like they did in the SHOW. The show seems determined to get rid of all his achievements. Also did try to challenge all 4/5 of the Black commanders to single combat prior to the Butcher’s Ball to avoid a battle and save his men since they were pretty much surrounded and basically guaranteed to get slaughtered. Imagine a group of commanders shaking in fear and didnt accept and promptly shot him with arrows until he died (and butchered his men anyways), but the fact he was willing to fight all of those men at once showed he was pretty confident in his combat skills.

@@swetagupta3927 It doesn't make sense, considering Alicent had a soft spot for her because in a way, she did not marry willingly, she was coerced by her father, and I'm pretty certain she did not want to have sex with a man 30 years her senior. So she must have felt something for the girl, considering it was her son doing such an atrocious act. It was a moon tea, so she was not burdened with a baby she did not want (some might say it was so there wasn't a bastard, but more than that, I think it was to protect the girl).

"Always coming and going, aren't you? And I have to clean up afterwards." - Daemon calls Baelon "Heir For A Day", which further solidifies his heartless reputation and was the push Viserys needed to banish him. Because of this, Rhaenyra is finally named heir and although she is happy at first, the hardships catch up to her and she doesn't have anyone for support. - Daemon isn't around and is occupying Dragonstone, which is supposed to be her castle as heir. Even then, Daemon disrespects her deceased brother and she has to be the one to fly to him. After getting the egg and cleaning up for the Crown, Rhaenyra deals with the *small* consequences of disobeying her father (even though any other way to retrieve it would've been bloody). - Her father marries her best friend, which makes her rightfully angry and even more alone. Daemon has fucked off to the Stepstones and she has no one. When Daemon returns, he hatches a plan to get them married but backs out at the last minute. Rhaenyra's honor is still compromised after being seen in the brothel. Daemon touching her and then running away results to her sleeping with Criston. This makes Viserys push for her marriage even harder. Although she didn't help by lying, this sequence of events started by Daemon also removes Alicent from her side. Daemon is once again banished, leaving her to deal with it alone. - Once she has accepted her marriage, Daemon disobeys Viserys and comes back at her wedding celebration. She dares him to take her and marry her in Dragonstone, but chaos ensues and once again, he runs away and leaves her. - Without Daemon around, Rhaenyra finds love in another. She ends up having bastards with Harwin - but imagine how easy this would all be if her sons were Daemon's bastards instead. There's an element of being pressured by her position as heir to produce children and you can also say that she chose to do it with Harwin out of love, but I don't believe she would have chosen Harwin over Daemon if he were there. - Now they are married. She trusted Daemon enough to ask him to be her consort and after years of trust and as a grieving mother, she asks him for Aemond Targaryen. Intentional or just a mistake, the death of Jaehaerys instead (a child, rather than Aemond AKA an adult already known for kinslaying) puts her claim in danger and ruins her name. They fight. He leaves. - Rhaenyra's "You left me." in Season 1 and her conversation with Mysaria in Episode 2 made all this clear. "He's gone. A week or forever, I do not know." "He does do that, doesn't he?" --- In Harrenhal, Daemon sees young Rhaenyra because adult Rhaenyra has made her low opinion of him clear. He seeks comfort in the person who put him on a pedestal, the naive princess. But instead of comfort, he sees that she is angry. Even young Rhaenyra is angry, because all his mistakes with her started when she was young. She was sewing Jaehaerys' head, aka "cleaning up". Now, this is from the showrunner's perspective: He also sees young Rhaenyra because the mistrust and unresolved issues go both ways. Young Rhaenyra was the one who "stole" his throne. He is the King Consort now, but he still feels like it was taken from him and the root of his issues lie with young Rhaenyra being named heir. That scene was him facing his issues and his mistakes. Harrenhal is cursed, as they say and Daemon is just starting to experience it.
@@rai2423 I agree. He was kinda naive in that regard, but I guess that comes from a place of hurt and just wanting his brother to see him for his loyalty. He had a weird way of showing this loyalty, but I think Matt Smith and the showrunners would tell you that Daemon really wanted to be trusted by his brother. I do think Viserys would've kept him by his side even with all his blunders, if it weren't for Otto and the Small Council. They were right that the realm is watching, but Viserys' track record proved that he didn't want conflict and preferred letting family matters go instead of handing out punishments. I think Daemon is putting this anger on Rhaenyra because Viserys is dead and out of the many babes from Aemma, Rhaenyra's the only one who survived and managed to steal his crown in a way he knows is irrefutable. Aegon II and the Greens are just usurpers to him. Let's not forget that he also beefed with Baelon, the newborn who stole his inheritance for a day 😆
Love your comment. I also think Daemon sees young Rhaenyra because he has a soft spot for her. This is the version of Rhaenyra who always adored him, who loved seeing him around, who always welcomed him whenever he visited. She's also young and a little naive and hasn't seen the cruel reality and Daemon has always been protective of her. I think that's one of the reasons why Daemon said yes to her proposal right after Laena's funeral. That's why he killed Corlys's brother and do anything for her because he always feel protective of her.
@@eimyatnoe9209 Yes I agree. He's definitely protective of her. I think no matter how complicated their relationship is, one thing you can't deny is that Daemon has always been ready to kill and use violence in order to serve his family. It's almost the only way he knows to serve them. As the Commander of the City Watch, as Prince Daemon in the Stepstones, as the King Consort. He feels hurt now because (1) Rhaenyra is reacting the same way Viserys did, and again he is alienated (2) "Rhaenyra is his mirror," as the showrunners say. Only they have the blood of the dragon, and her opinion of him matters the most. Young Rhaenyra was as reckless and hot-blooded as he is, which is why he finds it hard to understand why his actions are causing this reaction from her now. When he didn't feel welcomed by Viserys then, he found comfort in Rhaenyra trusting him the most out of anyone. Hearing her say otherwise now, and then seeing young Rhaenyra welcome him with the same (rightful) anger, he finally feels it all crashing down. Someone also said that the room he entered looked like Rhaenyra's old room in the Red Keep 😔 Harrenhal is bound to be a trip down memory lane for Daemon, bless him.
Im not really sure what Rhaenyra is expecting Alicent to do, go tell Aegon "Sorry honey but i misinterpreted what your dad said so can you go ahead and set aside your crown and kneel to the lady responsible for the decapitation of your 4 year old son"? Criston Cole's twin plan is actually genius in comparison, as it actually had a non 0% chance of success.
Well this whole plot of misinterpreting dying man words is kind of stupid to begin with. Especially when they decided to show the small council has been plotting to usurp the throne anyway. I'm glad they ended this whole plot. Let's hope they never brought it up ever again and just start the war.
14:16 that's why she's sending her children and rhaena too. they're all dragon seeds and have the potential to fly on the dragons. plus dragons even when small are still not a menace to fuck with.
All the Daeron confusion😂😂 don't worry i don't think he's showing up this season he's important later on. Also he's not a baby, in the books he's around Jace's age.
I mean this not as hate, like seriously but I feel like they are missing so much or misreading alot. They misread the daemon stuff at harrenhal, thinking hes doing it at the detriment of rhenyaras side. They misread the dragons going to the vale. And are overall very skeptical of almost everything.
I love seeing the discussions with you guys as you go through this show all with fresh eyes and nobody knowing what's to come. You all have interesting takes and outlooks on characters and potential plotlines. Love to see it.
No they’re not Daenerys’ eggs. Dany’s eggs were laid by Dreamfyre (Helaena’s dragon) about 50 or so years before this. At the time Dreamfyre was ridden by another Targaryen named Rhaena, and her girlfriend Elissa Farman stole three eggs from her and sold them across the Narrow Sea to buy a ship. We were told when Fire and Blood came out that we would learn where her eggs came from in that book. They can literally only be Dreamfyre’s
@@thaispereira7311 Well Spoilers… Why is one blue then? We know she hatches one of the four eggs and that one is pink. If the other three are Dany’s then why are the colors wrong
alicent: “rhaenyra’s supporters may believe what they wish, viserys wanted aegon to succeed him.” meanwhile viserys literally came out from the grave just to confirm one last time his daughter as heir🤭🤣✨
tbf "if" the blacks were in king's landing and the greens were on dragonstone, the greens would still come out victorious at the end. Rhaenyra has always been mentioned as naive and stupid by martin to the point where she would assemble her army only after king's landing would be under a seige. Alicent was a much better ruler than Rhaenyra anyways. and if she wanted to claim the throne why did she not rule it in name of viserys when he was ill? she could've had alicent exiled and the other sons and greens sent away to dragonstone very easily. She was the heir, she had as much power as the hand of king and some more. Yet now she's a stupid little person who doesn't know waht to do with her dragons and daemon.
I'm not saying that rhaenyra is not the rightful heir. what i'm saying is should she be the rightful heir or should Aemond (the guy with the best dragon, the only one who is well versed in medication, witchcraft, old valyrian blood magic, knows the common folk more than any targaryen, is supported by crownlands more than aegon, and is smarter than all of the other targaryens combined) be the rightful heir. Aemond is just a smarter, a bit premature and a stronger version of daemon.
People complaining about Rhaenyra getting into the church undetected as this crazy insane feat as if Arya wasn’t a literal cupbearer in GOT for WEEKS and wasn’t ever found out BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW WHO ANYONE ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE. THESE PEOPLE DIDNT HAVE PHOTOGRAPHY. it’s really not complicated. They literally explicitly stated why the plan would work
they had no clue what happened to Arya. She was a lady of one of the oldest and most respected houses in the realm. Rhae risked it to potentially save tens of thousands of lives… to prevent war. One life for many is LITERALLY the kind of sacrifice a true queen makes.
Arya was a little kid working as a cupbearer in Harrenhall, very far away from where people know her. Rhaenyra went back to the town she grew up in, where most people can remember her as their princess/future queen. Those two situations cannot compare. Besides, the problem with this scene is not the fact that she travelled to King's Landing but that she wanted to meet with Alicent after the murder of her grandson, which is a grwat risk. Alicent could have ended the war right there by killing her since aegon has a better claim to the trone than jace.
@@Sageddegas well if she wanted to be a good queen shouldn't she have taken the place of viserys in his absence? Let's just say Martin himself said Rhaenyra is not smart, is naive, and is blinded by forgiveness.

To be fair they kind of introduced this character a lil bit too late in my opinion. If they don't want to cast him for the first and second season... they should've mentioned him at least in S1E9, the perfect scene that come in mind is when the green council discussing how they're going to crown aegon, there's dialogue on marriage pact to get an ally. Instead they waited until S2E2 and they mentioned him kinda abruptly too. "You have a son there" 😂
As a book reader this episode is so good. Guys this story of dance of the dragon is a tragedy. Harrenhall is full of ghost Game of thrones just left out a lot of magical elements from the show. House of the dragon brought it back like in the books. That lady is alys rivers Lyonel strong bastard it is believed that she was a witch and according to mushroom she bathed in the blood of maidens to stay young she is tormenting Daemon with visions after his arrival at Harrenhall- Fire and blood book
I think the boys overestimate how much control Rhaenyra or Alicent has over their sides. They are first and foremost a woman. Even with the influence they've got, most men still respect them only in name. That church scene only serves that conviction to the war, but it really is too late to evade it with all the moving pieces.
I think more than anything the talk with Alicent has removed doubts that Rhaenyra had, in the back of her mind she must have wondered if her father HAD truly cast her aside in the last moment, and now she knows she truly IS the one her father wanted. Shes gonna fight for it now
obviously not the action packed episode we all hoped for, but still super solid. Especially them basically clearing the air and that last wall of hope for peace is gone. Daemon's mistake was huge but Rhaenys said it best, the cause of the war matters not and people wont remember the first act... only the fire and blood. Great vid boys!
Criston Cole hate obsession is weird to me . I don't even like him but some people are harassing Fabien Frankel because of this character, people are so delusional that they can’t tell the difference between fiction and non fiction. It’s so bad he had to mute his instagram because of it. Kudos to Fabien for the amazing job tho.
It’s the same energy people gave to the actor who played Joffrey in GoT. Despicable character and so many people sent hate to the actor for it which is so ridiculous
I feel so bad for rhaenrya because for like a second you can see her actually doubt the word of viserys until alicent mentions the prince who was promised
Telling Alicent about the whole prophecy would be the dumbest thing ever, do you guys really believe Aegon would just give up the throne if his mother told him about the dagger and the prophecy? He would use that in his favor, Rhaenyra would lost the only thing she has in advantage to defend her claim, to defend that her father always chose her. She was wise to just plant the seed of doubt in Alicent without telling her of everything. She was wise to not give this to the enemy.
This episode had so many great sequences! -The almost horror vibe scene with Daemon creeping around Harrenhal at night during a downpour was so awesome! -Rhaena catching a glimpse of Criston Cole and Gwayne and trying to get them before they got to the cover of the woods (she should have instantly had her dragon breath fire she would have got them! Or burned a circle around them trapping them). -How many bodies they made it look like were there as the aftermath of just a single battle that wasn’t even 100% official battles yet. -Aemond showin dong at the brothel lol and walking away with that awesome blue eye. -And Rhaenys had so many incredible moments this episode!
The scene with Alicent and Rhaneyra made no sense to me because Rhaneyra should have known that it was too late to negotiate. Even if Alicent agreed, what can she do? She's just a former queen. Aegon has already started to act, everyone there is war-oriented and does whatever they want. Rhaneyra came across as naive and quite desperate in this scene
@@Sageddegas They are on the verge of war. It is rather obvious that after so many murders and attempted murders, the situation is a hundred times more tense than a few years ago. @@Sageddegasshe knows that they murdered her son 3 days ago and they sent as assassin to kill her hours earlier. She doesn't need to live there to not be an idiot.
That scene served two main purposes; 1) One last ditch effort for peace, because Rhaenyra (and Daemon) are the only two people who know about the prophecy. 2) To quell any doubts she had when Aegon was crowned, because she truly thought that her father changed his mind. Now that she knows he never did, she now has the validation to really commit to the war 100%.
@@Sageddegas yeah to be fair rhaenyra is pretty politically inept. she has a good heart and generally a good moral code (bless her for those) but she's naive about a lot of the politics. in that sense she's very much like her father.

I'm assuming they'll make him a bit younger in the show, considering if he was Jace's age it would be a bit odd for him to not have hung out at all with his brothers and cousins in season 1, for example when Aemond lost his eye
@@davidsr1997 well, that's what happens in the books, Daeron is sent to Oldtown at a very young age and doesn't pay any visits to King's Landing. But I agree he may be a bit younger.

I think the war was inevitable. Even if the whole misunderstanding didn't happen, Otto and the council were already planning to put Aegon on the throne. The misunderstanding just gave Alicent a moral boost thinking that that's what the late king wanted. As Rhaenys implied, the war didn't start because of a single action, many choices and betrayals paved the way for an inevitable war.
There's nothing for Alicent to figure out lmao, she realized that it was a misunderstanding and instantly realized that it doesn't matter because it's too late now
So they confirmed those dragon eggs are Daenerys' eggs which kinda sucks for some people including me because it was always theorized to have been Dreamfyre's (Haleana's dragon) eggs that were stolen that became Daenerys' and now they made it be Syrax eggs😐😐
@@Emilia-em5cz connection with dragons aren't just about the fiery, there's also the dreaming. they call it dragon dreams. her connection with dreamfyre is probably from the fact that she's a Cassandra prophet figure. just like how daenys the dreamer, one of her ancestor, dreamed of the ruin of Valyria and got the entire Targaryen family out of Valyria before the apocalypse.
I will never believe in these lies of the screenwriters. They change everything as they want. Justice for Dreamfyre. It's obvious that Syrax is not their mother.
It's not only Alicent who misunderstood King Viserys, He was talking about the prophecy of Aegon the Conqueror , that's right But He meant Rhaenyra's son Aegon that He might fulfill the prophecy of the Promised Prince who would unite and lead the kingdoms to fight the darkness coming from the north
although different from what was hinted from the book, the writer of this episode confirmed that the eggs that was entrusted to rhaena was indeed the dragon eggs gifted to daenerys which eventually hatched. spoilers starting here! EDIT: based on ryan condal's commentary the fourth egg is viserys ii's dragon egg not rhaena's. we are yet to see morning's egg.
even I was surprised with the fast-paced events, but I must admire director Geeta Patel and her execution! This IS a pivotal moment for the show and the director nailed it in the execution and I am so glad that we got this scene. Geeta Patel is a master director indeed ❤ also, I love how she incorporates weather impact in the scenes ☁️ (she was the one who directed masterpiece S01E08)
Alys Rivers, the woman at Harrenhal, is a witch of sorts. While she appears young, some say she is ancient. There is a popular fan theory that I like, but don't buy into, that when Alys Rivers "died" she adopted the identity of a Red Priestess of the Lord of Light called Melisandre.
Mckay's eyes at the eggs actually looked like a cartoon 😂 You could see Jack realize what they did too, haha. But she's not sending them off to trade. She's sending them off as a failsafe. When all the dragons nuke one another like she anticipates, her sons and stepdaughter will be in the East with 2 dragons and 4 to hatch. TV lore/canon now tells us that ultimately, Rhaneyra's plan worked. She ensured dragons were not extinct forever. Some people didn't like Rhaneyra goong into KL, but I think it was excellent dialogue and a very realistic last full throttle effort to prevent nuclear war. It failed, and now our way forward is clear.
People keep saying that it is different frommthe books. But you have to remember that the book is the accounts of maesters who are mostly team green. A lot of the events in the books are not what actually took place. Even GRRM confirm this..

Dowager Queen has no position on the small counsel. Realistically i wonder why she is there. Daemon was disappointed when he arrived at Harranhal and they gave up so easily. He was looking for a fight.
You guys are correct about alicent saying it’s too late really because the men are off to war. In the post episode interview ryan condol the show runner said, “It’s not that Alicent is unwilling to hear Rhaenyra, it’s that she has no power, there’s nothing she can do anymore to stop what’s coming.” I do think rhaenyra has opened alicent’s eyes now though and she won’t be able to keep ignoring it.
Alys Rivers the Witch of Harrenhal! Those eggs are NOT the eggs that Daenerys hatches...in th books that is...the show may be taking a different route with the origins of those dragons...
The reason the other knights of the Kingsguard and Alicent’s brother disrespect Criston Cole is because he’s a common or that has been elevated to a high position that in their culture(just like in our medieval era) is not to be tolerated.it’s an affront to the gods in their eyes. It’s a big point in the books. Even Harwin Dtrong looked down on him when he called him the son of a Steward which is a servant.
What? Daeron (and now also Tessarion) mentioned again in this episode? Let's gooooo 🗣️🗣️ Perhaps we might get a short glimpse of him by the end of the season. (I'm being delusional 😬 knowing too well that Ryan kept him for S3)
7:13 questions i've been asking myself. i was thinking rhaena, the one she talked to right after that scene, would have claimed seasmoke. and she's giving dragons to someone in pentos for an army in exchange for keeping her children safe as well
Another thing is that the Kingsguard/white cloaks all come from noble families and are not common. That’s why I’m Season 1 the Lord Commander and Otto wanted her to not choose Criston.
"Why did he come by himself?" Because he's Daemon mutha fukn Targaryen, bro! I'm probably wrong, but the Blackwood we saw in this episode may have been Benjicott Blackwood who becomes known in this war as Bloody Ben Blackwood.
I honestly hate it they feel the need to confirm it. Just leave it open ended like on the book. In the book we are coaxed to believe that daenerys' dragon eggs come from dreamfyre's clutch, but GRRM never confirm or deny this theory. They should do the same with this possible plot and let the audience connect the dots and made up new theory themselves.
That scene with Rhaenyra and Allicaent has to be one of the most idiotic scenes of the show so far The schemes this season are pranks and everyone is coming across as incompetent
@@steve4235 as much as I like HOT D. The scene was dumb. That Rhanyra would take such a journey and risk everything on the chance that Alicent, her former friend would share the same sentiments when for all she could know, Alicent may have been fore front in all this usurping. All that being said, after the discussion, why would Alicent allow her to leave, even if she values peace, taking rhanyra hostage has more chance to bring peace through negotiation than allowing her to go back to dragonstone. And to think rhanyra came up with the plan simply because rhanys adviced her without consulting her council. It was so dumbbb.

Rhaenyra isn't giving away the dragon eggs - she's basically sending them to the Eyrie for safekeeping
to Pentos! those are Dany's eggs from GOT
It goes both ways. Becasue those dragons do offer the Eryrie protection. An they will offer Pentos protection when they are bigger and stronger
@@lka9900 ryan condal confirmed they were danys eggs
Rhaenyra clearly told Rhaena to go to Pentos goofball.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it's so different from her character from the book.
Not at all how she is in the books… At the end of season 1 she had a look of “Ok, let’s go to war” And now in season 2 she is doing everything but going to war…

The sound design when Daemon was at Harrenhal was superb.

About the visions, I want to bring attention to one nobody talks about. One specific vision weve been told of could have avoided this whole conflict, if it had been followed. And im thankful the person who saw the vision did not follow through on it, because then we would not get this amazing story :D
Everyone seems to fully believe in Aegon's prophecy, which came to him in a dream and told him to go and conquer Westeros because the world would need Targaryens and their dragons to survive the long night.
(Aside from fans knowing its true thanks to GoT, and the charecters in HotD having a dagger with the song of fire and ice written down on it)
I think it might be because Viserys did not do as the vision told him, unlike Aegon the conqueror.
As i feel like its an important piece that has been overlooked by fans:)

"Always coming and going, aren't you? And I have to clean up afterwards."
- Daemon calls Baelon "Heir For A Day", which further solidifies his heartless reputation and was the push Viserys needed to banish him.
"He's gone. A week or forever, I do not know." "He does do that, doesn't he?"
--- In Harrenhal, Daemon sees young Rhaenyra because adult Rhaenyra has made her low opinion of him clear.

Daeron is about Jace's age. He is the third son and youngest child (Aegon, Helaena, Aemond, Daeron) of Viserys and Alicent.
i feel bad for aemond but aegon makes me laugh so much 😭
14:16 that's why she's sending her children and rhaena too. they're all dragon seeds and have the potential to fly on the dragons. plus dragons even when small are still not a menace to fuck with.
All the Daeron confusion😂😂 don't worry i don't think he's showing up this season he's important later on. Also he's not a baby, in the books he's around Jace's age.

They already confirmed that they changed that and that is danys eggs
They changed that for whatever reason they director confirmed it🙄🤣
@@thaispereira7311 Well Spoilers…

alicent: “rhaenyra’s supporters may believe what they wish, viserys wanted aegon to succeed him.”
meanwhile viserys literally came out from the grave just to confirm one last time his daughter as heir🤭🤣✨
tbf "if" the blacks were in king's landing and the greens were on dragonstone, the greens would still come out victorious at the end.
They literally explicitly stated why the plan would work
@@rai2423do you expect the characters to always to the exact most rational thing? that's not how humans work pal
they had no clue what happened to Arya.

Asking if Corlys has a dragon is crazy
He doesn’t
Hate criston but Fabien is a cutie pie, a literal sweetheart. He doesn’t deserve ANY hate, only praises for how good of an actor he is
It’s the same energy people gave to the actor who played Joffrey in GoT. Despicable character and so many people sent hate to the actor for it which is so ridiculous
Oh wow. Didn’t know this. That’s too bad. Fabian seems lovely in the interviews, why would they even bother him of all people 😂
That lady who said “You’ll die here” to Daemon looks like someone 👀😁
Alys Rivers
She's a Witch.
Milf Alys
I feel so bad for rhaenrya because for like a second you can see her actually doubt the word of viserys until alicent mentions the prince who was promised
Riding into the forest to avoid dragons gives me Attack on Titan S1 vibes.
There is literally nothing Alicent can do to stop the war now. Aegon and Aemond wont listen
Daeron is supposed to be the same age as Jace.
that Rhaenyra and Alicent church meeting had Eren/Reiner in basement vibes. Just former close friends talking before the war.
She hasn’t lived there in YEARS she doesn’t know everything that’s going on
@@Sageddegas They are on the verge of war. It is rather obvious that after so many murders and attempted murders, the situation is a hundred times more tense than a few years ago. And it was already bad a few years ago. It's naive to think that Alicent, who doesn't really have any power, will change anything. It's too late to negotiate
Daeron Targaryen (Alicent's 4th child) won't appear this season because he's an important character and his casting would be public. And he's Jace's age (Rhaenyra's 1st son)
He had to be Luke's age, because Jace is the same age as Aemond in show. Alicent needed at least 8 months after Aemond to gave birth another child.

There's nothing for Alicent to figure out lmao, she realized that it was a misunderstanding and instantly realized that it doesn't matter because it's too late now
This episode was beautifully shot, also that Harrenhal set made me realize HBO has more money than God.
Those are actually daenarys eggs)))but one of them got lost in some way
So they confirmed those dragon eggs are Daenerys' eggs which kinda sucks for some people including me because it was always theorized to have been Dreamfyre's (Haleana's dragon) eggs that were stolen that became Daenerys' and now they made it be Syrax eggs😐😐
Agree...what a crap turnaround that is...
How did Helena get a dragon? She is so delicate and... Detached from reality that it's hard for me to imagine her taming a dangerous dragon😮
I know right why did they have to do a forced tie in and not wait to do a more natural tie in later on
@@Emilia-em5cz connection with dragons aren't just about the fiery, there's also the dreaming. they call it dragon dreams. her connection with dreamfyre is probably from the fact that she's a Cassandra prophet figure. just like how daenys the dreamer, one of her ancestor, dreamed of the ruin of Valyria and got the entire Targaryen family out of Valyria before the apocalypse.
I will never believe in these lies of the screenwriters. They change everything as they want. Justice for Dreamfyre. It's obvious that Syrax is not their mother.

He was talking about the prophecy of Aegon the Conqueror , that's right
But He meant Rhaenyra's son Aegon that He might fulfill the prophecy of the Promised Prince who would unite and lead the kingdoms to fight the darkness coming from the north
Those dragon eggs Rhaenyra sent away are Daenerys' eggs( the director of this episode confirmed this)
although different from what was hinted from the book, the writer of this episode confirmed that the eggs that was entrusted to rhaena was indeed the dragon eggs gifted to daenerys which eventually hatched.

The reason the other knights of the Kingsguard and Alicent’s brother disrespect Criston Cole is because he’s a common or that has been elevated to a high position that in their culture(just like in our medieval era) is not to be tolerated.it’s an affront to the gods in their eyes.
