Thank you so much. I take mine soon and I’m super nervous.
Good luck! You'll do great. :)
Let me know if you have any questions.
What advice would you give for the constructed response questions? Awesome video by the way! Helps a lot!
I'm glad the video was helpful! The directions for the constructed response are very clear on what they're looking for. I didn't pay too much attention to the structure/mechanics of my paragraphs and mostly focused on simply hitting all of the points they were asking for in as much detail as I could. If I had time I went back and edited, but from my experience they know that you're not going to craft a beautiful, well-edited response in that time-frame. I got average and above average scores on my constructed responses for all 3 tests I took and I definitely attribute it to that.
Omg... your response definitely calmed me a bit. I was really nervous about the time and the sample questions/answers on ETS had responses that were extremely detailed and longer than I would be able to tackle in just 30 minutes. I appreciate your advice :) @@evatriesteaching
Were the questions on the test that the same as the studyguides ? Your studyguide was helpful!!
I'm glad to hear it was helpful! The tests definitely throw some obscure curveballs in there but the guides are very true to what's actually asked based on my experience and the ETS practice exams.
Hey, thank you for the tips! I have a question. Are the practice tests harder than the actual Praxis 5047 exam?
I would say they're about on par with each other. The practice tests are truly a great representation of actual exam questions but I would do some extra outside studying/refreshers on topics you're not the strongest with. For me, that was poetry.
Hey Eva thanks for the video. I am going to add this endorsement to my certificate. I'm in a career switcher program right now and will be done in may. I have PE under my belt but i want to add english and FACS and ESOL. Do you have any other tips or resources for english? I would also love to connect with you, share/collaborate.
Hi Nijee, sorry for the late reply. I would say that this test should be easy if you refamiliarize yourself with typical High School English class content. I have my study guide for this test linked in the description for purchase if you'd like to check that out, but I would recommend looking at some AP Lit and Lang tests/practice tests. Also, The official ETS online practice tests were a huge help to me as well. A large chunk of the test utilizes the stimulus-response form of questioning. Please let me know if you have any other specific questions, I'd love to help!
Can you recommend any websites for English instruction methods? Thanks!
The ETS test snapshot/overview has the specifics of what you should be looking for, but if you're searching for simple, practical explanations Edutopia has some good articles.
Any specific resources you used to study which are available online?
aside from the ETS tests that is
@@brandonandreas4659 Apart from the ETS practice tests I really only used the study guide I created. I tried looking over some old AP practice test samples and review videos online but those weren't really helpful for me. They might be for you though!
@@evatriesteaching any way I could take a look at your study guide? Do you have it online somewhere?
@@brandonandreas4659 It's currently up on my TPT linked in the description. I've made one for both the ELA and SS tests.
