WrightMaths my teacher told my whole class we where basically revising badly cos we all didn't do to well on this exact test. He said 85% of the test was easy year 7 to year 9 work. But I found it so hard. Is he wrong, or is it just I'm kinda stupid?
I can't make a comment on your teacher for obvious reasons, but I can speak of my own experience of 21 years. If I had to sit this mock paper (3 papers), I would have lost perhaps 15 marks overall. Some silly errors, and I found the odd question really hard to understand. I think that Edexcel have thought hard about this NEW SPEC, and have delivered two demanding Mock's in my opinion. That said, I do feel the actual exam will be more 'fluid', and seem easier to work through. But, I cannot be sure. My staff felt the papers were very demanding also, and we are a very experienced team. Hope this helps...cheers

WrightMaths It's perfectly ok I have noticed one on paper 1 as well but I can imagine with how long this must take you some minor video errors are bound to happen. I think it's really helpful what you do

WrightMaths Question 23 on the higher it shows the question just not how you answer it. It is a lot of work to do. I use your videos to check through my answers before I pass them on to students who I work with basically walk and talk them through the exam papers that they have done
That is good to know, I think that I would use them in the same way a s a teacher. Sometimes, seeing another approach to a problem, really helps. I constantly see different ways of doing these questions, and have to choose a few ways for each question. A lot of students send messages on here, saying the explanations are too long. Personally, this misses the point. Each question should be tackled in multiple ways, because under pressure in an exam, the human brain usually prevents us from thinking too widely, as the pressure takes a hold. Cheers.

Although I'm doing AQA exams, I find your videos extremely useful. Also, you're very gracious in your responses to the "you've- missed-this-bit-in-question-14" type of comments. Recently, I've noticed a mistake in the answer on some other (vey well known) website and let the man running it know about it. He wasn't a happy bunny; he sent me an e-mail in which he pointed out that I made one spelling mistake in my correspondence, but he doesn't mind, as anyone can make mistakes, lol! It seems that a spelling mistake in a private e-mail carries the same gravity as a wrong answer on a public web-page.Needless to say, I won't be using that man's "help" any more. More time for doing WrightMaths papers! A huge THANK YOU!

Can't wait for the exam .. I'm aiming for a 9! Fairly confident- mock papers so far have been to easy.
For question 20 there is much easier method which will take literally seconds:
4, 405
2, k
0, 5
Now there is a nice difference of 2 in the x axis so we can use the multiplier method.
To get 405 to K you multiply by 405x and to get from k to 5, you multiply by 405x^2
This leaves you with 405x^2=5, simply solve to get the value of x which is 1/9 and multiply by 405. You can complete this question in 10 seconds. Not too difficult
You can use this method for most exponential graph questions if it is written in a similar format.
