    Bought one in '93. My first amp. Still got it too. Chorus is unbeatable.
    Here's a cool trick to expand the sound of that amp even more.
    I took 2, 2x12, 8 ohm cabinets, each wired in parallel. Put one 2x12 cab on one side of the room, and one on the other side of the room.
    Disconnect the speaker wires from the PC speakers and extend the wires to each of the 2x12 cabs.
    Crank up that badboy and ride that giant, lush wave of chorus to heaven!

    I've had mine since about 1998. It's a great amp. For the classic fender crunch sound I have the treble at 7.5 to 8.5, mid about 3.5, bass about 2.5, reverb 6-7, presence about 2.5, gain 7-10, limiter 0-4. Depending on which guitar I'm using and which pickup I'm using then it will be different but that's the general range I have it at.
    A cool and subtle way to use the chorus especially with lots of gain is crank the chorus depth to 9-10 and have the speed around 0-1.
    This amp is so versatile too. If you drop the mids and crank the treble and bass then you can get a really good heavy metal sound.

    Hey i must have got one about the time you uploaded this?! They do sound great 👍
    The mono loop see increases the noise when used, stereo not so much but then the chorus sweep gets louder. Could be the way they are or maybe old solder joints/components...? Wondered if you notice the same. Cheers

    • @LUKESTRONG4LIFE
      @LUKESTRONG4LIFE  10 місяців тому

      Hello, Yes, there is a difference.
      A. INPUT 1-A high impedance, high sensitivity plug-in connection for instruments,
      B. INPUT 2-Plug-in connection for instruments. This input exhibits a lower input impedance and sensitivity than INPUT 1
      and is useful with active preamp guitars, and will provide a darker tone with passive guitars. Both inputs are identical when
      used simultaneously.
      Hope that helps.....Be well. Rock on! Brad

    • @LUKESTRONG4LIFE

      This does not. To me, they work as intended. There are many amps that “jump” at very low volume levels, example when the sound just starts to come out of the speaker. Versus volume 4 to 5 is not as noticeable. It’s pretty normal for older amps.

    Hiii!! Mine doesnt sound like yours :/ I'm considering getting new pair of speakers, any reccomendation? And, I've noticed chorus only works on one speaker. Is this normal or is it somewhat faulty?

    • @LUKESTRONG4LIFE
      @LUKESTRONG4LIFE  6 місяців тому +1

      Hello, Your amp should sound like mine if operating properly. Chorus should work on both speakers. Check all connections carefully. I would start here and watch my video here: ua-cam.com/video/-zRh5NtGqdM/v-deo.html on how to clean the pots. After doing that, see how it is operating. If you want to replace the speakers, it really all depends on your sound preferences. But if after cleaning the pots and it still has issues, you have to decide whether it is worth repairing or replacing. Having an amp like that repaired could be very expensive unless you find the right repairman. Good luck and I hope you are able to find the problem. These are amazing sounding amps when running properly. Rock on!

    • @elsenordefiler1893
      @elsenordefiler1893 6 місяців тому

      Hello!! Thanks for answering. I'm qualified in repairing amps, I've repaired a lot ;) Then I was surprised when I noticed chorus only works in one speaker. I've already replaced all the pots, cleansed PCB, make some resolder work as manteinance. I mean, the amp sounds ok, maybe I'll do a recap. I checked the schematic very carefully and according to it, yes, chorus only sound in one speaker, not both so you can`t notice when it's sounding, in fact chorus sounds good.
      Even I tried to bridge the chorus signal to both speakers and it didn'd work properly. The reason why I'm considering replacing the speakers It's because when I acquired the amp, like 12 years ago, both speakers were broken, so I made them to be repaired. They've changed the membrane and probably the coils. As I said, the amp sounds good, I've used it extensively, had tours with it, and despite it hasn't that much headroom, I like very much.

POWER OUTPUT: 25.5 watts RMS per channel = 51 watts RMS. Mine was not very loud in recent years but just did a complete re-cap job, replaced all the 1/4" jacks, and put a new speaker cloth on the front. Looks and sounds brand new, and yes it is loud. It was getting kinda noisy also, but the recap and jacks fixed that. It's definately one of the best SS amps Fender ever made.
