The vortex has an angular speed of a normal natural vortex. The flow speed on the outside is irrelevant, since in the experiment the vortex is created by that flow while the real vortex is created by currents that meet in the center, where the speed would be much lower.

You must be missing something in your scaling of experiments, because I've seen ships rolled on to their side from currents of 14-15kn.
I'm thinking I could make a 1:5000 scale model of the Titanic, throw an ice cube at it at 2000mph scale speed and not make any visible damage to the hull, proving that an ice berg can not sink a ship.

I’ve done this in the bath many times and I could always capsize my boats…and flood the bathroom…

We were cliff jumping like 50 feet and one guy landed in the middle of a whirlpool it was going by, he took a long time to come back up it was intense.

Something wrong with the snow plough myth. More speed! Trucks on the highway moving at 100km per hour, 61 mile per hour, can near rip a car door off

Feet away from each other? They were at least 10 meters away from each other...

Wait...they couldn't just buy normal truck and put snowplow in the front?

I think a tractor would have been the easiest option because they have snowplow attachments available

They could also practice saving refugees and dealing with conservative politics with that ship model.
