- It's kind of awesome that I watched the 2017 It just a few weeks ago, so that version is fresh on my mind, just in time for NECA to deliver both that Pennywise and the 1990 Tim Curry version. I....I...I like the new one better. Gaaaaah!

The actor who plays 2017 Pennywise has a lazy eye, so I think the eyes on that are Neca paying attention to detail. These figures look dope!
Nope. There are others where the eye is normal. Also, having a lazy eye does not mean it is permanently in a different place. People can still move them, and often times keep them straight. Kristen Bell, for example, has a VERY BAD lazy eye but you'd never know unless you saw her interview about it.
Ocelot Ya but a big part of the character is his ability to move his eyes wherever. Also, I've seen about 5 in Gamestop and every single one had the lazy eye in it

It isn't intentional. It's not a lazy, it's bad paint.
He doesn't have a lazy eye? He literally just has the ability to move his one eye to make it seem like it's lazy.
True, it's bad paint (in fact, I'm jealous yours are straight, but my GameStop head arrived with straight eyes so I'm super happy) but it has the good fortune of being semi accurate no matter how bad it is, with Pennywise's eyes being crazy half the movie.

NECA changes up the articulation per figure, especially going for something that won't break up the sculpt as much. That's more why the chunky nature of Curry's Pennywise is different than Skarsgard's. Love both figures though, I got the Tim figure over the weekend and was instantly floored with how good he looked. Very happy with both of the figures (even got the Gamestop version of 2017 fig), grand additions to the collection.

Personally, I liked the 90's IT movie. I genuinely found him creepy for the longest time. Now 2017, as soon as he spoke it was done. I laughed the whole movie, design wise 2017 was more aesthetic rather than creepy for me. But my God, he sounded like Shaggy and Scooby was trying to talk at the same time.

Just to let you know if you didnt know that NECA is starting to distribute to Target. I know ive seen some stuff mostly the small scale collectibles but i have seen a few actual figures like Kratos from God of War 4. Great review it was cool to see both designs next to each other it really makes me notice how in universe 2017 Pennywise makes no sense like what actual child would trust that creepy bastard.
My Target doesn't have anything NECA yet, but I'm keeping an eye out.
You can find the NECA stuff in the entertainment section at Target (where the Blu Ray movies are). Mine had one each of Friday the 13th 3D, Friday the 13th part 4, and A Nightmare on Elm Street part 7. They were $25.
I stopped buying NECA horror figures awhile ago but was very tempted to get one of the Jasons and that Freddy with the creepy ass dogs with human faces.
"Pennywise makes no sense like what actual child would trust that creepy bastard." I felt the same. It's a great monster design but a bad strategy for luring the kids.

Regarding your feelings on the two portrayals, I agree, Skarsgard's take was more like a "demon" or unearthly being from the story, while Curry was more like the bully aspect of Pennywise in the book (that being second hand interpretation, I've sadly never read much of King aside from Carrie but I plan to read more at some leisurely point).
At 11:49 IT makes your screen dirty, and you can't clean it out.
Yeah, I noticed that, stupid macro lens. I don't think I'm using that again. Or I could clean it, but that's way too much work, haha.
These are great figures! I wasn't all that impressed with the 2017 IT movie, Too many "jump scares" and not enough suspense. I'm still kinda interested in getting the 2017 Pennywise figure because it's a great monster design.

That 2017 is definitely my favorite. The newer movie is scarier for me, especially Pennywise’s design. So I’m definitely gonna find a way to pick up the 2017 figure, I might even pick up one of the small Funko three packs
I did in fact get the GameStop exclusive as soon as this went up, and it looks even better. So. Good.
The 1990 version figure is the better of the two in my opinion. 2017 version is way too tall and not as creepy looking as the 1990 version.

I would go for both, both bring something awesome to the table. Even if you prefer the 1990 in general, the 2017 is just an awesome action figure.

As someone who’s seen neither movie I have no real interest in buying these but can admire how nice they look from afar
Also the modern version feel scarier and creepier in a more obvious outright way, and has that supernatural ness in his design a bit. The older one comes across more like a guy dressed like a clown, and is just scary like how a clown is normally scary. He just looks off putting but not in the more obvious way I think the other comes across as
You pretty much nailed it, but Curry does a lot to bring in an extra creepy vibe.

Honestly, I was never a huge fan of horror. I've never seen a Friday the 13th all the way through, don't remember any Halloween movies, and hadn't watched any Elm Streets until last year when there was a marathon. I know the characters and how iconic they are, I just have no reference.
Can you review the "ultimate chucky" figure by NECA? I just ordered one but i love your reviews. :)
When you open them, if the joints are hard, you have to soak them in hot water to soften, the same to change the heads. If they are hard, do not force the piece, take the advice.

The Fwoosh absolutely perfect for Gus. I wish I could get a 30 pack and a bottle of Jack for any of my Logan’s figures. In fact, I think he should always be packaged with some.

(whether it be all out once or spread out over time) EASY $600 NECA!!! The colonial marines among vasquez and her smart gun!!! TECH NOIR!!!! (need i say more!?) Police Assault!!! (I've already said too much!) Mud covered Dutch yelling (Easily one of the most iconic scenes of dutch initiating his challenge against the predator)

Cool review! Love these figures! I agree too, I like the 2017 movie better. I always thought the original was kind of corny and boring in a lot of spots, but the 2017 version keeps me wanting more. Bill was fantastic!
Regarding NECA...once you own a bunch of their figures, you kind of get used to the heads being a little tougher to put on. Now PUSH!!! 😆
