i found my holy grail in removing brass on brown hair, i use manic panic dye!! color correcting. its cheap and amazing. use turquoise or a greenish blue for orangy red hair. mix a drop of the color into a white conditioner. very safe for hair and non damaging. its just conditioner with some color. mix it up and leave for 15 20 mins. the brass is all gone

The soft red neutralizer did absolute wonders for my hair, the trick is to get your hair damp and leave it on for like 25 mins rinse it and then deep condition, I have been trying to get the awful brassy red tones out of my hair for years and I honestly can’t believe this is the only thing that actually did something

did they change the formula? I bought this from your video a year ago and it worked exactly like your example and then suddenly as I kept ordering it stopped working and now when I do a teat strand it doesn’t change it at all, maybe it looks a bit toned but it definitely looks nothing like the example taking my hair to a much darker silvery ash look with lots of shine for like the first couple times I used the product. Then I reordered and now it does nothing, I thought I got a bad product so I ordered agains and same thing. Now it doesn’t look shiny at all, it doesn’t give the “darkening” ash effect, if anything it’s like I used a purple shampoo on my brunette hair. It also doesn’t stain my hands anymore and it used to stain them for days so obviously something is different. Do you have any other brands similar to the effect this one used to have? It was the only product that I found that actually worked and gave the darkening effect vs most blue shampoos don’t give that super ash darker look like this one used to.

I'm very confused with what the dolls head looked like before.... did it have the brassy hair all over???? Or did it have half brassy half normal brown? I'm finding it hard to believe that the toning shampoo did in fact fix the brassy color and make it into a cool toned brown hair without using a dye.

Quick question soo,i've already learned from my mistake,to never box dye, because no matter what, you will ALWAYS have RED BRASSY HAIR. ESPECIALLY on my brown hair,it made me so mad and regretful. I'm planning on buying this, hope someone finds this comment but,2 questions. 1. Is this damagin. I know this is a shampoo but will it damage my hair in any way,or no. And 2, I have almost dark brown, but it's light in the sun,and the red/orange tones really come out,and it looks so bad, especially if you didn't want to wash your hair. So,would the red tones not show as much? If I used this shampoo. Someone reply, thanks!

I used this product 1x for 3 minutes and couldn't comb through my hair afterwards! It fried my hair! I was pretty fired up. It did mellow out the red a teeny bit and blend my roots to my ends a little better but it sure dried and damaged my hair in the process. I'll have to get a very good deep conditioning treatment. I am okay with the color correction but not okay with the damage.

Thanks so much for this tip. I've used this toning toning shampoo for several weeks now, and indeed it works great. What I don't like is that I can't quickly wash my hair anymore, it instantly takes the effect away. Also, I leave it in for about an hour before I rinse it out so to get the desired results. And I have to use it once or twice per week in order for the effect to remain. This might have to do with that I wet my hair everyday in the shower, although I just wash my hair once per week. I guess if I wouldn't rinse my hair on a daily basis with water, it would last longer. Nevertheless it's a bit of a hassle. Is there anything more permanent, that I would have to use-for example-once per month?

Please, advise. I actually decided to visit hairdresser. I had light blond hair but not as much as you in this video, with my natural root to change it back into colour as close as possible to my natural, which is still light (level 7/8) goldish blond. First attempt left me with Orangeish root and slightly darker blonde from the root. The line was visible. Not panicking I told her to fix it. I specifically said that I don’t want balayage but even colour. Yet I ended up with balayage on the lightest hair, and even worse with some red brown 80’s lines and I can still see the line of my root. Should I go back there even though in this process I knew this case is lost? What should be done now? Should she still fill the hair to absorb colour evenly ? Or maybe I can fix it at home ? Please , help

I have a question . . . my natural hair color is jet black. I went a blonde about 3yrs back, but it was a tedious journey ( I did go to a "professional" at a salon; I wouldn't dare use bleach on myself. Espescially with locs). Mainly because when bleach is applied to my hair, it typically lifts really fast (though that was not the case this last time), it hits this brassy orangeish color, then just stops lifting. Long story short, I was trying to achieve a ash blonde, but my hair still kept coming out with these red-undertoned blondes. So in the end, I end up going to a different stylist who put a green toner in the bleach or the color he applied to cancel out the orange/ red tones in my hair & it got most of it out. I can actually see the green tones in the blonde now ever so slightly, but I guess I notice it because I know it's there & I know what to look for. But it's not a problem for me aesthetically cuz only a trained eye would really be able to tell, & it's most noticeable when it's wet, which is rarely around other people. Anyway . . . my question is, if I decide to go back to my natural color one day, as opposed to letting the blonde grow out or cutting it out, would I have to add a red toner to the black dye---since, as you know, would cancel out the green--- so that way I wouldn't have black hair with green undertones?? Or would just getting a shade of black dye that naturally has red as its base be enough? OR would getting a NATURAL black dye color which has neutral undertones be fine?? OR (and I promise this is my last "or") does it even matter what shade of black I use??
I ask all of these "what if" scenarios because about two years before I went blonde, I had a few pieces of my hair highlighted red (again, by a "professional" & the intended color was plum, but I digress) & she had to light my hair blonde before she deposited the "plum" color on my hair. I got tired of it after a few months & decided I could dye it back black myself since I figured how could anyone screw up with black?? Plus, I didn't know that much about undertones at that time, & assumed black would cover any color, no matter how bold. So I applied about 2 tubes of black dye to my whole head, & everything seemed to be alright, 'til about the second time I washed it, then the red started peaking though, but not as boldly as it did when I first had it done. So I look back & try to figure out what kind of black (undertone-wise) I should've used to cancel out that red. I think I used "jet black" by ION, & if I'm not mistaken, jet black has blue undertones.

Great I suppose, if you're a brunette. I have yet to see a video on how to correct RED/orange/copper tones in BLOND hair. That's the issue that I have. No matter what I do (trying to color to level 7.5-8 ash blond), it ALWAYS ends up bright RED-COPPER. This has been driving me nuts for over a year. Could you address this is a video? It's like whatever the rules are for 99% of people's hair, don't work when it comes to my hair. And I really don't want to have to bleach it. Is there a toner that you could recommend? I've tried Wella T14 and it didn't do jack on my hair, except make it a tad lighter. But no toning at all.
To add to that, any shampoo/conditioner that I use must be completely fragrance-free, or only very light natural fragrance, as I'm highly sensitive.

TKayWay WayBack I think we might have the same issue. If you find a solution please let me know and i will do the same. I added highlights to my medium brown hair and was pretty satisfied with them but decided to tone them using a pale ash toner with 20 volume developer and left it on for about 20 minutes and now my light brown natural base/roots is what I would call a dark strawberry blonde. Very brassy. It definitely lightened my roots a couple shades. I just want my natural hair color back but not sure what to do now?

    • @TK-ij2xi
      @TK-ij2xi 7 років тому

This is what I've found: You must use a developer that only deposits color, so 10 or 5 (harder to find). You must use a demi-permanent color 1-2 shades LIGHTER than your original dye color.
This is what I did: Originally it was 4A with 20. To correct I used 5N with 10. ONLY ON THE ROOTS. I left it on for 15 minutes (I was so scared!).
It's NOT perfect, but the hot roots are definitely darker. I just didn't have the guts to go to my stylist & say, "Look what I did. Please take my $200 to fix it."
I googled all day with variations of "correct hot roots brunette"....

Have you ever talked about hair that is very stubborn to lift or lifts to really orange/red instead of going up levels? This is my hair and a lot of my clients and I can't seem to figure out why. I've only gotten the explanation of "some hair just reacts like that." I'm not sure how to really correct it other than using a toner to bring it down or to do a strong toner and then continue to try to lift it out in the next appointment.

I ordered the red removal but haven't received it yet. Now I'm afraid to try it, I love the silver and lightness of most of it???

Hi, I have really dark brown hair (practically black, i'm Indian by nationality) and I got a balayage done with caramel highlights but the problem is my hair ended up turning slightly red. My stylist said that the bleach got the red out, but even after getting toned twice at the salon the caramel is more red then caramel. I was just wondering if toning shampoo will help it (my hairstylist wouldn't give me an answer when i asked about toning shampoos). And I'm not sure whether I would need a red neutralizing shampoo or a brown color one. Thank you for your help :)

How long did you leave the shampoo on the hair to tone it to that degree? Did you do it more than once to get it to that color?

Hi Elle , I hope you can help me here. I have bleached high lights and also dyed with dark ash blond. It is brassy in some places. Would this tinted love help? The color is brassy light brown or dark blond. The rest of my hair is dark brown. Also I have few natural grays here and there not noticeable that I missed when doing roots. Would this tinted loved turn the grays white or platinum? All I want is removed the brassiness all over my highlights. HELP!!!!! I watched a 100 videos and decided you are the most proffessional and your advice makes sense.

Just came across your channel. I have naturally dark brown hair and had a balayage ombre done to make it a light caramel color. The brassy textures are now back. What's the best toner shade to use to get back to that caramel but not yellow?

I used to have brown hair and I never liked it because of the shade. It didn't compliment my skin tone. Too bad I didn't have your advice back then :) although I love being blonde, I find brown hair wonderful when the shade is right. Thumbs up!

Would that help on mine? I just had a disaster happened where I had a blonde balayage on my medium/dark brown a couple years ago that grew out and a month ago cut off 7 inches cutting off most of it. And instead of redoing it I wanted to go back to my natural hair color which is between a 5/6N brown. The stylist added red toner that looked like red velvet on the blonde to get rid of it then colored from root down a cool 6n brown she had colored matched me to. Roots came out copper base lighter orangish brown color and the rest a really dark brown/red color but out in the sun is super red. I didn’t want any red or orange in my hair just a cool toned medium/dark brown. Waiting to go back to see if it can be fixed or not but looking for any solutions lol 😭

I have a question; I want to take the red out of the brown part of my hair on top of my head but my ends are blond, does this product effect this part? I actually want the ends to stay the same but im worries when only applied to the top part it would leave a very visible line...

so this was the red neutralizer and not the soft red, right? i went to the salon and literally asked for a color that looked JUST LIKE the toned side, and was instead given what the other side looks like! i want whatever you used on this doll, because i am literally the before side and i want the after. if you could help that would be soooo great :)
