Game has been confirmed to be 30+ hours. Very excited for this game
But that should only be for the time for the story. In total it will apparently take over 60 hours. O:
33 devs, 33 hours, 33 expeditions
yeah that is nuts. They must have had a lot early with that "solo passion project" Unreal 5 though has tons of tools to instantly create industry leading animations and visuals right out of the box, it allows smaller teams to make AAA ish visuals, the question is whether then make AAA level gameplay, which many don't. THIS looks great on that front.
Just the idea alone is so cool and only 33 devs. I hope this one succeeds so the sequel can be even better lmao
Wishing for a sequel of a game that hasn't released yet is a new level of brain rot
Let’s let the game actually release first before we start talking about a sequel ight?
@@withoutthejuice7193 zoomer adhd is so bad he's bored of a game that hasn't released and needs the sequel already
a guy named lord bath tub saying I got brain rot lmao it’s okay to be excited for a game goof
@@brandonreyes7113 No one’s saying you shouldn’t be excited, I’m extremely excited. It’s just kinda weird to anticipate the sequel when the game doesn’t even exist yet.
It's one of my most anticipated games of the year the art style is stunning, Hope the story lands.
day one buy for me, france has some really banging games. I'm still waiting to hear about plague tale.
This game looks absolutely phenomenal. I hope nothing but success for these devs.
For $50, I'm even more inclined to get this.
Buy it day one, no balls.
It's discounted now on Steam. Around $30 USD
Day 1
I bought a copy on STEAM. I want to double dip with the collector's edition but sold out 😢
I was fully expecting this to be $70. Pleasant surprise.
All I got from this video is how much the chat was a bunch of complete asshats about the guy simply being French. What the Hell was that about?
Racism?
Chat was childish AF smh. Game looks great, I hope they get good reviews.
No where near as bad as xqc
Absolute L chat memeing on their accents.
Nah, I'm french and I agree, our accent while speaking english is pretty damn funny.
But then again, last time I tried to speak english with the "right" accent, I had a hard time being understood, and as soon as I reverted to pure bad french accent, communication was incredibly smooth, so I just roll with it
@@cirederfsamot2730French accent in English is very cute, actually. Own your accent 😊
@@cirederfsamot2730Probably good reason for that. Quite a lot of English is just French.😂
This is the best game to come out of France at the moment. It looks gorgeous 🇨🇵
I am definitely getting this at some point after release, the developers deserve the support.
It's like Persona without all the highschool bs. Love that.
For the lore enjoyers :
It wasn't until Monolith Year 85 that we finally understood.
There had been disappearances before and wild rumours, but those were chalked up to grief and denial. Everyone knew someone who had walked into the sea.
Our lands lost, our people separated, the unending waves of enemies... Who hadn't contemplated the same? And for some, it was an act of love, knowing there were too many mouths to feed.
But in 85, Lumière finally bore witness. At the Harbour, with everyone gathered to watch the Paintress rise. The elderly twins Anne and Gabrielle, sitting on their usual bench, as they did most mornings.
And then they were gone.
The first recorded Gommage. That was the day we finally understood the meaning of the numbers She paints.

Cool
telling me you dont need an insanely big team of thousands of devs to make a good game, never saw it coming
This is literally the only game I am looking forward to this year. I hear it's about 30+ hrs to complete the main story. I like that.
This is gonna be my GOTY, the music, the art, the story, everything looks so good…
Same
The updated world map is cool! It's such a classic feature, that hasn't really needed much updating - because new games don't have you run around those overview maps, so this approach looks really good!
You can by a huge, thousand dollar lens that actually tilts as you take a photo to create a tilt shift. Or, you can blur the foreground and background to different degrees and adjust saturations in Photoshop, or Gimp, to create and fine tune a tilt shift effect.
It sounds like a western take on Metaphor. So pumped for this one
Jennifer English and Devora Wilde are in this game along with Charlie Cox , Andy Sirkis , an all star cast of Va's.
You forgot Ben Starr too
Wait, so it's Jen *and* Dev? Wow, I thought I can't get excited for a game even more, lol.
Don't forget Tracy Wiles (Jaheria), she knocking around in this game too.
It looks amazing, let’s hope the story clicks as well. It’s so good to see devs passionate about something they created, after listening to a lot of corpo speak.
As a big turn based fan (Atlus being my current favorite developer) this looks like it’ll be right up my alley.
Neptune
Crimson Desert and this game are my top anticipated games.
Is Crimson Desert confirmed for this year?
is crimson desert also has pc release?
I have pc game pass, but I already pre ordered this. Love supporting small studios.
I was already sold when I heard the premise..
Yeah, big publishers on your project usually tell you to not mention games that aren't published by them. It's baked in so thoroughly that now discords set up by devs have to follow the same rule.
The ff8 fan makes sense, when I saw the combat for this game I immediately thought of ff8 as well
Yea the timing with the gunblade,i really enjoyed ff8,i know draw gets tedious but I loved the story and characters.
This just shows small teams are way better and we need more
Added it to my wishlist when they released the first trailer some time ago.
Most hyped have this year for me
I think its healthy to not over hype, but from what they have shown and talked about, it's refreshing that a dev is deciding to do something different from the norm that AAA devs are doing. I'm really excited to dive into the world.
Too late, I broke the hype meter. I haven't been hyped for a game since 2013 😂
Can't wait for this one :) - and it's TURN BASED!
Morgana in Expedition 33 when?
@@shatteredsentient5321 That's enough Luke Stephens for today, let's go to sleep
Im just glad Xbox had something I was excited about that wasn't Gears, Forza, Ninja Gaiden, or DOOM
I will 100% play day 1 on gamepass. Then buy a copy to support new studio. ❤
Squall's Gun Blade mentioned? Let's go!
I'm super excited for expedition 33, pre-ordered it fast asf. I've been craving more turned base combat since my current playthrough of metaphor. Def top 5 anticipated game of 2025.
I am *extremely* hyped for this game. Please do not disappoint guys, this looks almost too good to be true.
I'm happy - my XBox start screen now has 3 games preloaded that i'm looking forward to releasing. Never had that happen since i bought my generation Scarlet.
No Man's Sky's newest update Worlds 2 is gonna be super impressive. My 7900xt is salivating for it lol.
I just started that game I am excited
@shatteredsentient5321 oh man!! I am downloading it again to catch up. It looks so freaking awesome!! Their newest game "Light no Fire" or whatever it's called is going to be insane!
Nicholas is so f*cking goated. That art took me IN.
Combat system reminds me of Legends of dragoon. The visuals remind me of folklore on PS3. So, a win-win in my book.
There are some red flags out there, but if they can deliver a promising experience that can be the jump off point for a franchise, I'd consider it a success. I'm skeptical yet cautiously optimistic. I think it will lack something (optimization, polish, gameplay depth, enemy variety, etc) which is understandable considering the size of the team, but hopefully the promise of the future potential keeps people excited for what comes next.
I'm willing to overlook any minor rough patches such as enemy variety or potential frame drops here and there, basically first game teething troubles. As honestly even larger scale JRPG's are guilty of that, take last years Metaphor Refantazio for example. While it was a new IP (so may not of been given as big a budget as they would've liked) it was made by experienced Persona devs and that was guilty of copy and pasted side dungeons and did run a bit poorly at times in some of the cities.
But the Metaphor was still heavily praised despite some of the kinks it had (I enjoyed playing it). I'm hopeful that Expedition 33 will be similar situation, where the good stuff outweighs any potential lower quality moments or hiccups.
I love turn based combat like this. If they'd only add this into the new FF series instead of the real time (running around), like they did in the old days of 7,8,9,10 etc I'd buy them in a heartbeat.
I expect Scars Above length and lack of branching - and i'd be perfectly happy with that.
I'm likely going to be out of the country when this game releases but I want this to succeed, so I might preorder a physical copy to be there when I come back.
I will wait for the review. If the story is good, I will 100% buy it. (Even if its just good and not great).
yeah in another interview they said it's about 30 hours for main story only, and about the same for all the side content
I think it will be an experience similiar to kena bridge of spirit and I love it
This is the prettiest new game I've seen since Lies of P. Good God...
Reminds me of Remnant and Dishonored with art direction 😍
An action rpg that has dodge, parry, interactive buttons for perfect strikes, but in a turn-based mechanic. Its modern. Its right for me. Just hope theres a lot to explore outside of the story.
Easy interview. Very leading questions. Like he already knew you get a bonus for not getting hit, or similar, in battle. Customisable custom characters.
Still interested in the game. The complicated skill combinations, different per character, sound fun.
Art style a little like Dishonoured. Environments reminiscent of under Sera in Gears of War 2.
My only concern would be difficulty and hoping the ability to parry and dodge moves don't make it too easy
I would imagine the difficulty setting in this game probably also affects the qte segments of combat, with the tougher settings reducing the windows for perfect hits and maybe the enemies do feints (making it harder to tell when to parry or dodge).
@DRAG0NSPIRIT10 I'm a souls player so I enjoy challenges, so I'm hoping it does push me to explore more and plan accordingly while sharpening my reflexes
@ Ahhhh, yeah I see what you're getting at (I started playing the soulslike genre a bit last year). I don't think this game will quite push the same way, but I guess we'll see. Actually something that I just thought of, that could be interesting, is I wonder if maybe some of the hidden boss fights they've mentioned might have certain challenges to them (like you have to beat them taking no damage to win).
@DRAG0NSPIRIT10 that would be interesting, I don't need it to be souls level hard but I do enjoy the feeling of progression and working for my victory, or at least each new area provides a challenge when new but the last area you can completely over power cause you've grown past it
@Cold_Zero_The_Wise Agreed.
Year of RPG? KCD2, Avowed, ACS, expedition 33, remake of Oblivion and Fable?
Now we need tp hope that the developers dont say anything stupid on twitter, and turn their audience against them.
My most anticipated Game of 2025. Only FF17, FF7R3 or Persona 6 could beat how excited I am for this
They said it’s 40 to 60 hours
This is awesome!
Dear PlayStation execs: Please interview Sandfall; stop letting X-Box get all the interviews with this development team. ☺️
Drops on my bday, playing this DAY 1 baby
normally not my type of game but I'm hooked with this one i will definitely buy it I have gamepass but like u said gotta support the little guys
Thats my top 3 hype train this year, sorry papa Im hyped to the roof.
i don’t know, i’m not a fan of jrpg and turn based at all. I am interested asf tho. If it turns out good, I will be purchasing. Hopefully it’s on playstation
JRPGS are so different From each other, its so hard to say that you dont like.
Have you ever tried FFXVI or FFVII Remake? Most people when they say that dont like JRPGS or turn based, never tried.
But still have Baldurs Gate 3 as favorite game despite being a turn based RPG
oh shit that combat looks actually good wtf
The hell with Gamepass I’m buying this one immediately
BG3 isn’t even my style of game but I still bought it just to support the devs. Might do the same here
I might be excited
Perfect this game has memokeeper blackswan as well 😊
Next steps: release game to niche audience success, hone their craft over the next 2 games, build their magnum opus with a 150-person dev team that still has a vision, sell out and produce mediocre games for 10 years
Let's be honest, everybody's dream is to retire early. It's not devs fault that gamers tend to get attached to a studio instead of good games.
What I really really love about this game already is the price, and that it looks like every main character is looking to be over the age of 25. I hope this ends up being good so Japenese rpg makers move away from constantly using the 17 -21 age demograph.
They are 32. All that is 33 years old dissapear so those who are 32 go on a expedition. They have done for many years but the expeditions never comes back and the numbers just tick down. Like a sacrifice. "I will die next year so I will go and try to save us" type of thing. Maybe. Is what I think..
Always be sceptical 🤔
I’m trying super hard to manage my anticipation for this game but damn is it hard
@@bjones6761succumb to the excitement 🗿 it'll be goty
7:10 PR stands for Public-facing Rectum
So it's basically a jprg without the anime characters.
25:28 the following minute of comments on screen are worth watching lol
I dont need my games to be 100 hours, ever . 10-20 hours is fine to me, replayablity and trim the FAT
Any game dev that says ff8 and kh2 means the game will be lit
French Personal looking 🔥
Square has been trying to make more 'western' games, the problem is JRPG fans want 'Asian' style games.
By moving to the west Square is moving away from what we want, Forspoken is a perfect example of a game made for no one.
I have hope Expedition 33 is looking at the games from Square when they where still on top of the game, I have hope.
edit- when I say western It's not that simple, FF9 is one of the best games Square made. It has Western inspiration but still has the JRPG roots, it's more like a studio Studio Ghibli theme than a American theme.
I really hope this turns out amazing because if it does this is gonna be rubbed in *SO!.. HARD!* in other studio faces who are making stupid games and agenda pushing. I won't let them live it down EVER!. I hope it's at least 30hrs long.
Does it have an FOV slider?
Hey Luke, we've all had in the back of our minds and even when talking to friends about the idea that these companies are using these upscalers and frame generation technologies as a crutch to meet a minimum viable product to put out. Do you think that IGN and all of these major so-called video game jurnalist Outlets are deliberately putting out footage that is 1080p 30 frames just to obfuscate the fact that Triple A Studio graphical procedures of building video games are just dumpster fires, on all fronts. I'm just spit ballin' here, but it seems like if you and every other person on UA-cam respects the audience enough to put out very high quality 4K 60 footage, that these huge journalist companies can also do the same, and they simply don't time and time again. This begs the question, why? Are devs asking them to maybe not put out very high-quality footage and kind of lean into compression methods of UA-cam for... reasons? Or perhaps, 'Don't attribute to malice that which can be attributed to the self-serving drivel of politicking game scribes' is a quote to apply to these idiots. Seems compelling, and I wouldn't put anything past these psychopathic journos. I wanted to get your thoughts.
if this game comes out with no bugs, and they only have those 30 people on their team..... all i have to say is all of those other massive AA game dev companies that take over 5 years and push the game back to 7 and 10 years to finally come out and all have game breaking bugs, they all should be ashamed of themselves and all get fired and hire these people. because this game looks amazing for a team of only 30 people and dont have a lot of experience like big AAA game companies. also i remember seeing someone saying 30 plus hours and the game will be $50 not $60 or $70 like how many of these AAA games are now costing but yet come out playing like shit.
FF16 looked fun but I'm an xbox play so I didn't get to play it lol.
I get Malifaux vibes.
26:31 a month out? He clearly never heard of "rage gaming" day one the game comes out there gonna have a video post "The Best Build/armor , Loot! " 🙄
"Buy it day 1" yeah, no.
These devs are so good looking, is it because they’re French?
The saying "it's not that this team does anything wrong, it's an UE5 thing is so wrong.... ue is a tool, and it is being used badly by many teams because of lack of experience, deadlines, bad peogramming, and over scoping. Stop blaming the engine and also think of the humans that are using it.
breaking a game isnt lost by western devs, thats one of the things lost by japanese devs....compare BG3 to final fantasy....final fantasy isnt even an RPG....also studios like obsidian always emply a lot of choice and ability to break things....JRPGs hardly do anything
Xbox had a showcase?
bUt LuKe....WhY iS sTaRfIeLd fAiLiNg!?!!!!!
I'm sorry but the character models are a huge turn off super skinny and big headed looks more like they took the gnomes from Baldur's gate and given them a high texture detail
It's the worst name for a video game I've seen since "Immortals Fenix Rising"
Nah. Triangle Strategy takes the cake for the worst name for a video game.
@crash10310 holy trinity of 3-sided shapes called triangles
This is coming out on PS and PC. Why is xbox so obsessed with it???
Because they got it for gamepass obviously.
This might be a hellblade type situation
I am very hyped and will be that until releaae. I have gamepass. I'm already paying for that. So I have nothing to lose..
And your chat are cringe af. Must be because it is xbox. Hating for just hating.. I'm lucky that i don't know people like that in real life. It's sad to see the cringe hate.
I’m interested in it but I’ll still wait for reviews.
My plan is to set a 50-60 fps lock then fire up Lossless Scaling on 2x, or 3x if latency isn’t impacted in combat. Smooth as butter baby
Woooo
So my prediction - this is going to be another Unknown 9... because I think it's easier to produce a trailer than an entire fleshed out (solid) game with 30 people... People only have so many hours in a day, no matter how committed or talented. And I think there's a reason why they have a cinematics team in Paris... because it's about selling a game that isn't there.
They showed a lot of gameplay already? The game looks great everytime and the combat its great, stop comparing with a game that looked terrible everytime they showed it
Where is perfect dark?
In my dreams 😭
It’s not happened bro…. The only trailer we’ve got looks like a fake video game youd see in a tv show
It seems that he doesn't want to be called a racist since he's not acknowledging the French accent and the jokes his audience is telling him
Rebirth would have done better if it was a true remake. Not some rpg with a ff7 skin
Game is surprisingly being overhyped. This art direction and open world concept doesn't look to blend very well imo. I'm betting that if the combat isn't stellar, it's gonna bomb.
Game looks great and they showed a lot of combat, this will do great because it looks great everytime they show
@FloripesTavares showing combat is different than playing it yourself. The world is also reminiscent of a better looking forspoken in how this world is being portrayed. I don't think it'll be nearly as bad or maybe not bad at all. I'm just hearing alot of hype for one in depth reveal and i won't trust that. I hope it's good though!
@frenchspice8189 nothing to do with Forspoken in art direction, i just finished that game because of PS Plus.
Forspoken its something that tried to emulate that kind of "glamour" UI and Athia it was just desert and medieval cities
