As a first grader, this is how first grade was like.
Txunamy is a really good actor
When I was in first grade, the teacher never took our phones and we never used phones in class, never recorded videos on our smartphones, never watched UA-cam...then again, none of that stuff existed when I was in first grade!
One thing I do remember is that the teacher used a cardboard clock and thermometer to teach us time and temperature, respectively. We would go to the front (sometimes sneak up behind the teacher’s back) to change the time and temperature. One time, someone put the clock at 12 and a girl said to me, “It’s midnight, Kevin, time to go asleep.”, so I put my head on my desk. Another time, the thermometer had been put at -50 F, so a kid said to me in the hallway, “It’s cold.” “Where?”, I asked. “In the classroom”, he answered. However, between the time I got back and the time he returned, someone changed it to 120 F and I told him, “It’s not cold now!” “No, it’s hot!”, he replied.
One time the teacher caught me sneaking up to the front to change the clock or thermometer, and make a comment on not doing that. In hindsight, I wonder if she just interpreted it as enthusiasm and appreciated we were enthusiastic about it.
