Hey, Castle of Dreams was also one of my favorite field music as well, Enchanted Dominion and Castle of Dreams, best field music for this game, oh and maybe Radiant Garden
This theme is simultaneously magical, tragic and melancholic. It perfectly reflects the world ruled by Maleficent, but not in the sense you'd except, that it would sound oppressive, dark and ominous. It reflects the tragedy of all that fell under her spell. This is one of the very few KH world themes that stood out to me.
I played Birth by Sleep for the first time when the 1.5+2.5 bundle released on PS4, so I went into it already knowing the major story beats of the franchise. Terra was also quickly becoming one of my favorite Kingdom Hearts characters at the time, so I started my playthrough with him. Knowing everything that was going to happen really makes this track hit different. It's almost downright depressing.
This is the most depressing field theme in the entire franchise for me. To be honest, it felt like the world should've been one of the later ones, instead of one of the first.
This theme makes me think of Aqua wandering the Realm of Darkness. Seeing nothing but the ruins of the worlds she visited before, coming to the realization that she's slowly going mad from being alone for so many years... Some messed up stuff, man.
Interesting that the Sleeping Beauty world (Enchanted Dominion) is split in two On one side, it's quite beautiful, but on the other, it's quite desolate
@@Vigriff You don't even know the first thing about it. You're too clouded by darkness to see there's something greater. Try all you want, but you'll never defeat a heart filled with light
I just realized something! Even though Terra is the darkest of the 3 playable characters, he's the only one of the three that never goes to Maleficent's castle, the darkest area in this world!
This song right here, easily describes how sad reality is. A broken world, constantly working, bills, more bills, rent, medical expenses, car payments, it never ends and it never stops. A constant cycle that everyone must deal with until the world eventually stops. Endless desire, war, pain, misery, and tormented by politics, greed, and power, living in a world that doesn't care about anyone, never get any luckier in life, it truly is a lonely and harsh world we all live in, everything comes with a price, marriage, wealth, college,, theft, murder, everything. And the sadder part is, it gets worse as the years continue on, we age and age wondering how life is gonna get any better, but in truth, it will never get better, we can only be happy with ourselves temporarily before we've come to realize that everything has an eventuality. And that's how life is always so fucked up, and that's just how it is. Never knowing rest, never catching a break on anything, we can only dream for a better world in our dreams when we sleep but when we wake up, we're back to living the fucked up reality until death. Deep within the cesspool you call life, only you will find negativity, toxicity, and survival. Truly an imperfect world we live in.
Yea on my psp i would spend my hour long ride to work just listening to this, it makes it a lot easier feeling the mood as a Christian thinking about this dark world in need of help
Ahh. The times I had beginning Tera's story on crit mode and grinding on this level for hours just so I could take a hit or two when I got to Hollow Bastion. (Yes I know its Radiant Garden but Hollow Bastion is what I knew it as first so thats what Im calling it)
That's an odd thing. One of the most HATED Disney movie of all time (well deserved) gets one of the best tracks in the Kingdom Hearts' franchise. That's not fair.
I'm not sure how you got to that conclusion +FreddyPingus were you perhaps thinking of the Maleficent movie that came out a few years back? Because Sleeping Beauty was one of the most well-regarded Disney movies of all time (in Kanye's voice) OF ALL TIME!
Sleeping Beauty is the movie that started the trend of the prince being a good protagonist instead of a useless tool. That alone makes it one of the best.
One of my favourite field themes in the entire series

I still love it hope it’s in kh4
Bro mine to :)

Kingdom hearts has won the right to exist simply because unleashing Yoko onto the music of Disney is the most wonderful thing to have happened!
Truly!
One of the first worlds you explore and it’s already depressing.
I love it!
I remember playing this game on my PSP. I would visit this world and do nothing just to listen to this. Brings back a lot of memories :)

I disagree, having this world be one of the first is reflective of Walt Disney's Princesses: Snow White, Cinderella and Aurora.
I think visiting this world 1st as Terra is the point. This music tells you this isnt your ordinary key wielding adventure.
What about Night of the Dark Dream ? Sacred Distance ?

They're good, but I like this one more.
Personally I think Keyblade Graveyard's theme is more depressing, but this world's theme does sound foreboding.
I love how they nailed it so good with the OST, you could actually fit it in the movie...
I wish they had
My favourite song in the series, i could listen to this forever!
This theme makes me think of Aqua wandering the Realm of Darkness. Seeing nothing but the ruins of the worlds she visited before, coming to the realization that she's slowly going mad from being alone for so many years...
Some messed up stuff, man.
And then she got the makeover ala Xehanort.
@@DarsiPadilla Not quite. More like The Darkness
@@Fragmentsinfractals488 thanks for clarification.
For some reason, this makes me think of your first meeting with Valkorion in SWTOR KOTFE
"I... have always loved the stars."
I want to hear this with full orchestra at my funeral
Same
Makes you question... If you can hear this at your own funeral, what did you do to be forced to fake your own death?
If Ever i lose the path; this helps guide the return. Masterpiece
I remember how amazed I was with that track when I played in my psp. It has this slow sad but epic vibes.
one of my favorite field themes in BBS! Thanks for the HD upload!
0.2 brought me back to this OST. Good old days.

Finally someone made up a tune for Sleeping Beauty’s world!
It's the power of true love that defeated you.
I will not be defeated by something as insignificant as love!
@@Vigriff says the same villain who gets controlled by the darkness EVERY time.

my favourite world in birth by sleep mostly because the castle is big and the music is calm and sad at the same time.
The intensely in this song and world!
Magnificent.
No. Maleficent.
Maleficently Magnificent
If you watch the maleficent movie this song sounds more emotional. I'm aware the movie is an a different timeline but still.
I wonder what would happen if Sora met that version of Maleficent? They could probably team up- that would be hella cool.
This theme reminding of the black cauldron
Magical!! Soooo beautiful and perfect for a funeral. I know, bit morbid lol but true 🖤
Sorry if i'm a party crasher but this sounds like sadness and depression
This theme reminds me so much of Once upon a dream sang by Lana Del Rey for the Maleficent movie
This is my go-to “Sunday Night Mope Music”
Maleficent goons disliked this..
Dislike disabled by UA-cam forever
This song kind of reminds me of Rena's theme from Star Ocean: The Second Story
Which instrument is used in the melody?
The motif is made by using a harp. An oboe is used as the main voice. Bass is played with piano and later on, with strings.
Sounds like an english horn to me
At around 1:00 I think you can also hear some harpsichord
Me when I have to deal with an ad, because I just got a bad one.
Or more fitting, wandering through a graveyard of a thousand.
Yea on my psp i would spend my hour long ride to work just listening to this, it makes it a lot easier feeling the mood as a Christian thinking about this dark world in need of help

Listen to Hurt (Christina Aguilera) : it's the same beginning :D
I completely agree with you!
What world was this again...? Maleficent?
No, the original Sleeping Beauty movie.
More like before the final area
This theme screams “fairytale curse”

But this was before that
