His argument is bias... Jay Israel is not a theologian. Even the platform for debate/interview is his church not a neutral place where others can question him freely. So we are only getting his side of view.
It's crazy that Jay Israel would ask if you believed in Jesus while he denies the existence of sin and hell, which is what Jesus came to save is from. His question is pointless and has no good motivation to convince you to repent of your sins and believe in the Son of God for the forgiveness of your sins and reconciliation to God.
So, I would gently plead with you sir to be reconciled to God. Don't die in your sins. It would be sad for you to die in your condition because any unforgiven sin you've ever committed in this life will be punished by God on the other side. Come to Christ and live!
