I have to say that I really appreciated all the personal insights Laura brought to this presentation, much of which is missing in other reviews, this mixed with beautiful photography and riding footage as well as all that is truly good, even amazing about this model - I'd call this an excellent presentation that doesn't, in the least, damp my interest in acquiring the white 1260s... Much thanks for all you do! ...and ignore all the whining!
DUCATI SCREWED ME! I purchased a brand new Monster 1200S from Ducati/Hudson Valley Motors NY which was unexpectedly defective from the manufacturer. It would shift into neutral unexpectedly even when shifting up from 3rd or 4th. Could not shift into Neutral from a dead stop. I notified them, but was told the bike needed a break in period to the first fluid change and I was unfamiliar with Ducati. So I rode it wearily for 700 mile, had the oil changed and still nothing changed. Ducati kept the bike 4 times, but each time they said it was fixed, it wasn't. Finally, they agreed to repurchase the bike as unrepairable. But for pointing out the flaw, they penalized me by charging me for "damages" which even the service department had not reported all the times I brought it to be fixed. DUCATI HAS NO INTEGRITY. IRRATIONAL PRIDE DOES NOT MAKE UP FOR MANUFACTURING INCOMPETENCE. I deserved to have a new bike and it was not my fault the bike was defective from the manufacturer!
Next time just video the data sheets for any bike and I can read it myself without an annoying voice, which doesn’t seem that interested in what she is actually saying.
I dont agree with the gearbox comment. I test rode one for a couple of hours and found the gearbox frustratingly soft with barely any sign of a confident rifle bolt action like shift. I found it quite disconcerting how easy gears are found on the up shift, I personally want to feel and know its engaged the next great, yet I didnt. More over on the down shift from 6th to 5th I had a big box of nothing on entrance to faster corners finding myself entering a corner with no gear at all. This happens at least 8 times. Annoying to say the least, having to look for a gear when your expecting engine braking into a corner.
5 ft 7 having trouble putting your foot down? I'm 5 ft 7 and my leg was BENT on the 825mm seat height. Honey, I think you're trying to put both your feet down, which you're not supposed to do.
although the tone was dull, it was a very thorough and relevant review, so I don´t know what everyone is on about. Yes, it could use a better delivery, but having to choose, I prefer content to flash and bang if I'm trying to learn about a Bike.
Poorly read script and monotone voice over generic stock footage. You might have been at the launch, but how do we know from this? Bike reviews need to come across with interest and enthusiasm, this sounds like a teacher reading out the class register. I’m here miss, but not for long. Off to watch an interesting multistrada review somewhere else. Sorry Visor Down. Your reviews are v dull. Right down there with MCN videos. There are great, interesting reviewers / presenters of bike shows on UA-cam. Maybe something to learn from?
Yet nothing is said about Ducati lying about the supposed 160 Bhp of the outgoing model. Never again will I buy a Ducati . I like to trust the manufacturer I deal with. Shame on you .
