Keerthy Suresh got National Award for the movie MAHANATI (meaning great actress) Mahanati movie is all about South Actress Savithri who was one of India's leading actress of 50s & 60s. She have acted in 138 Telugu films, 100 tamil films, 6 Kannada films, 5 hindi films and 3 malayalam films. Total 252 films spending 30 years in the film industry. She was golden hearted. Her husband Gemini ganesan was also an actor. He had 3 wives including Savitri. Bollywood Actress Rekha is the daughter of Ganesan's first wife. Ganesan's and Savitri's relationship started falling down when savitri got to knew that Ganesan had relationship with another woman other than his wives. After that incident, she started drinking alcohol and became an alcoholic. She was addicted to alcohol. And also her palace like house was raided, and all her money which she saved by acting in films was taken by them. After that she moved to a small house of her friend. Even if she didn't had any money, she helped many people by selling her saree. Due to diabetes she went coma for 19 months. She died on 26 December 1981 at the age of 46.
