@@sanzidameem3587 , the video is titled 'the happiest countries in the WORLD'. Asia is part of the world. Bhutan is very nice and environmentally friendly but this study covers how people are living in all aspects including education, healthcare, and services available for them. I'm not familiar with what type of services Bhutan has to offer to it's people.

You should look at the position of these "happy" countries in the suicide rankings, it's amazing how many of them have excellent positions even in the rankings with the highest suicide rate in the world.

In the ranking there are 183 countries and *the happiest countries in the world are among the 52 with the highest suicide rate on the planet* . I wonder if these countries are more unhappy than they believe or are simply too polite and "proud" to admit that their wealth doesn't give them the happiness of heart and mind but only that of their wallets.

As humans have developed over the years, our prime instinct have stem from hunter gatherers and building tribes for survival is in our DNA. We are not physically capable YET to handle all the technology advances and discoveries we are discovering right now.
In really poor countries, when needs are met it fulfils basic human need that you have to fight for and achieve like winning to survive on a day to day basis, that against all odds, wilderness and all that Mother Nature has to offer is a HUGE feat and at our core can keep any human happy from inside out. The western world is twisted, point blank.

Don't believe everything that is told about Switzerland in this clip. The country is hopelessly overcrowded. Private traffic is collapsing at least two times every day and travelling by public transport has become a true punishment. Last but not least the prices (real estate, rent, food, healthcare premium etc) are simply ridiculous. What you might save on taxes you spend 2 or 3 times as much elsewhere.

Finland is first for happiness and 23rd for suicides, but the rate of happiness is a state of mind that can be invented, the number of deaths by suicide is an authentic phenomenon that undoubtedly has very concrete evidence.

I live in Helsinki Finland. I am happy most of the time. But I´m suprised that people in super rich countrys like Norway are not happier than us. Money does not bring happiness?

Scandinavian countries have the USA beat in this category
But they have high suicide rates so all the unhappy people are killed off, so they appear to be a happier nation
@@dtmt502 I think the suicide rate is, at least to some degree, a result of the fact that we're so happy. Then when people feel unhappy, they feel bad because they feel like they should be happier. It creates a notion that even with all the criterias fulfilled to be happy, they're not, and then people feel like there is something wrong with them.
Suicide is cause by a lot of factors like bullying, shame, heartbreak, inferiority complex , etc. It usually has nothing to do socio-economic status. Japan is a rich country but also has a high suicide rate because of their competitive nature. Poor people don't commit suicide but they die from malnutrition, dehydration, violent crimes, and lack of healthcare.

@@mrpythagoras7079 , the point here is the CAUSE of the depression. If you're competitive but always gets behind in school, work, business, love, or whatever you're aiming for cause other people are better than you, it can cause depression which is a precursor for suicide!

In this case, Europe’s happiest countries and the worlds happiest countries are almost the same thing
But European countries are the happiest in the world statistically.

With mountains so lofty and treetops so tall, Finland is definitely the country where I want to be! After all, it's been so sadly neglected for so long by people going abroad, who often tar it with ignorant epithets, such as "a poor second to Belgium". But, that discounts all of the wonderful attractions and activities that Finland has to offer, such as pony trekking, camping, or just watching T.V! And I've not even mentioned the culinary delights of eating breakfast, dinner, or a snack lunch in the hall - now that's the country for me! And if you're lucky, whilst there, you might just get to witness some traditional entertainment, such as the ancient folk ritual known as the Fish-Schlapping Dance performed by the marvelous Finn of Fires Folk Song & Dance Company (who have performed all over the world, including Russia, Japan, Egypt, and Vietnam)! What else can I say? Finland has it all!*

Notice none of these "happiest" countries are in Africa, Asia (Middle East included), South America or Antarctica (duh). These mentions in the video though I disagree with. Northern Europe has the highest suicide rate of practically anywhere, whereas Greece has the lowest in Europe despite their problems. Given this, how can it be said that Finland is the happiest country? Suicide is through the roof there and the Funeral Doom Metal music genre is the drug and catharsis of choice for people to deal with their environmental and social circumstance. Now I am a listener of this type of music and live in Greece but have personal circumstances rarely found here for this to be the case.

Finland is in the middle even under.
Forinstance Russia, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, UK, Serbia, Belarus, Cypros, Portugal,Latvia, Hungary, Luxemburg, Poland, Estonia etc. are ahead of Finland.
The concept of "happiest countries" is a little different from what you might hypothetically assume. This is the average coefficient, between estimates in life expectancy, the percentage of the educated population, social security and the level of political stability. Therefore, this list is almost everywhere sparsely populated, mainly European countries. I believe that this list should also include countries such as the USA, France and Germany, at least. Costa Rica is unlikely to be better than this trio.
