Done watching the movie. The house that you live in does not makes you at home if you can't feel the warmth and love from your family. This is really a heartbreaking movie seeing how their parents neglected them and made them feel unloved and unwanted. But in the end of the day family may vary but those people who really welcomes you open heartedly are those more deserving of you. You are worth it lovelots.

This song is THE song my daughter would sing every single time the movie was on (which she played on repeat) and just in general. It always made her so sad to see how they were treated but ALWAYS made the best smile and came snuggling with my wife, her brother and I; knowing we were a loving happy family. The words for a 4-5 year old were very advanced to even understand but she dedicated the song to us. She passed at 5 years old just shy of her 6th birthday August 23rd 2021. This song is her lasting message to me that she chose us, and we choose her over and over again. Still not even sure what took her precious life at 7 months in; went in healthy and never came out within 45 minutes….I miss you Sophia Grace Smaragdas and will Always Choose You

@@Theawd well both Billie and Alessia produce pop music so it's a semi-art anyway but I think both of them have different things which make them stand out. Alessia definitely has more useful lyrics and her voice has power but is still smooth, also her recent albums have a unique and cool musical style. Billie has a very aetherian voice, it's really nice to relax to songs like ocean eyes. Her brother and she make relaxing and pleasant music which has a special vibe to it.
So I think both Alessia and Billie have their own adequate style and both are good artist. Billie gets a bit more fame, so what? Alessia still earns lots of money with what she does, no reason to complain. If you want to see artists who really get less attention than they deserve for their work look at non pop artists like scary pockets, jacob collier, KNOWER, sungazer, vulfpeck or hiatus kaiyote

I literally cried at the ending scene because if this was in real life, the kids would have probably frozen to death real quick because they didn’t wear anything warm and had nothing to protect them. Imagine four siblings hugging each other out in spite of the winter coming upon them, but they say it’s fine because they’re together. It’s definitely one of the good or probably the best animation movie 2020 has so far.

I was really angry with their mother and father and I was cursing them a lot. Imagine having them as your parents. I was crying when they were rescuing their parents. The lines there were very touching and heart melting, and I thought everything will be fine after that. Imagine saying these words to your parents: "Look, we are not a perfect family. We're not even a good family. But you need us to get down this alp, and once we're down there, we need you so that we can all stay together. You don't have to love us, but will thou be our parents again? Please." But still they neglect you as their children. The movie didn't complicate things though, but imagine the pain it caused to a CHILD. Nevertheless, it's a GREAT MOVIE.

Netflix is truly underrated for its animation! Even though movies like this and "Klaus" don't get the attention they deserve, I hope Netflix continues to push boundaries. They're one of the few productions today consistently evolving CGI, stop-motion and hand drawn animation to new heights.

My son was crying after watching this and he asked me when they threw the children out “would you ever do that to us”? It completely broke my heart! But I reassured him between the cracking of my voice. Good movie but it’s sad because children really go through this.

This movie hit home to me. I'm currently quarantined with my 2 brothers and parents. Almost a week ago I had a fight with my mother and it was really verbal. That was actually the first time I defended myself for real. But still she didn't understand and she just hit me. The thing is, I've been dealing with anxiety and depression for years now (I was diagnosed) and it was all because of her. My mom is a very, very toxic parent and she never apologizes for anything. As for my dad, he's the best parent ever but he's always away (works abroad) so he didn't really know what was happening until a year ago when I tried to kill myself.
I watched this movie yesterday with my brothers after not leaving my room after that fight so basically it was just my dad who saw me during the days I locked myself up as he had to bring me food and I was such a mess. I actually never thought I'd relate to this movie this much as I'm very close with my siblings and to me they're my home. It was hard watching this movie because I was trying hard not to be emotional around them, because to me that moment mattered. My house feels like hell for real but everytime my mom leaves and it's just the three lf us, these were the only times I feel like I'm truly at home.

i've been hating myself for having hard feelings on my family. i thought it was ungrateful of me but the willoughbys proved that no biological connection can be a reason good enough for you to not feel bad towards them for hurting you. getting hurt by your family and hating them happens and people should understand that it is possible. let's cut the "but they're your family" crap beause they haven't even thought of that when they hurt you.

I actually watched “The Willoughby’s” just now (without knowing anything about it, thought is would be a fun movie) and when this song played I recognized the voice and I was like,‘is that Alesscia cara’s voice?’ (I basically went on UA-cam and searched up the movies name and boom I am here writing this comment)Then I continued to watch the movie. If you pay close attention to the lyrics they mean a lot and I started to cry because it’s just really awful what orphans have to go through especially as kids. This movie is just amazing, it tells a story. This movie if one of the best movie in 2020 in my opinion.

My childhood was pretty chaotic because of our family so it was interesting to see how they portrayed things.
Tim tried to act like a parent to his younger siblings because their parents weren't there for them. He was also super cautious of his and his siblings's behavior so they wouldn't anger their parents. As if he still tried to earn their love and acceptance by pleasing them, even if that meant that he or his siblings wouldn't get necessities like food or clothes. My younger brother used to act like this.
Jane's main coping mechanism was her imagination. She lived inside of her head, twisting reality into something better and safer. I used to do the same.
And the twins...they seem like they're okay, but they don't show much emotion and they're super dependent on each other and their older siblings. They do as they are told and don't form their own opinions. Lack of emotions and the fear of rejection (no courage or idea how to be yourself) could be a sign of neglection. My youngest brother went through the same.
It's interesting how they all cope in different ways and how those coping mechanisms and behaviour can be seen in real life, in abused kids.

I'm here after watching the movie. Tbh, the things that the kids went through is horrible. They grew up with their parents who abused them, neglected them etc. Irl, kids who experienced this would be very traumatized. That's the reason why Tim had a hard time trusting the nanny. In the end, love finds a way to fix you. I hope everyone experience how to be taken care of, loved and to enjoy happiness! 💜💜

This movie really matches with my story. A group of 5 children that were take off their mother and fortunatelly for God's decision all of them were adopted. The older brother and the sister are my kids now and I feel like the most happy and blessed father in the World, with this family we construct one year ago. We are not the perfet family, but we are full of love and religion, enough to build our home sweet home. God bless all the team that created this movie, song and I strongly wish that it inspires people all around the World to become less selfish.

*SPOILERS AHEAD!!!*
The movie tuly is beautiful. Say what you want but it was gourgeous... Neglected children often die or suffer from lifelong trauma but the way the kids delt with their parent's death, and them being abused was really strong and along all that the visuals are gourgeous and it really makes me feel like it was hand-crafted. At the end on the mountain it was making me feel like it was a Christmas movie. I LOVE IT.
