If you're new to my channel, what you can expect from me is a vinyl collector's approach to the jazz genre. For years, I've only collected vintage pressings and prioritized originals of Blue Note, Prestige, Savoy, Bethlehem, Riverside, New Jazz, and more classic labels. Lately, with the resurgence of the medium and more collectors coming to the space, the music industry has taken notice and prioritized putting out high quality reissues of some of the best albums ever recorded. Subscribe to my channel to watch me navigate how to rationalize how I used to buy vs. how I buy vinyl records today.

I had a great time working at Blue Note records as a consultant here in Los Angeles 🌴
Great videos!
Great video and very informative for that title. A winning score for you! Yeah, share the love and sell your other copy as someone would love a copy !
wow! congrats on the find! always pays to stay up on overall value of your fav records as you never know when you might find the item for a bargain!
I enjoyed your video and back story on such a find. That must have really made your day!! Congrats.
Chris wow man awesome pickup man that intuition always works all the time and timing is the key you got that as a steal. I still remember finding Bill Evans Village Vanguard for $40 on July 4 I wasn’t going to any shops but my wife said you should go kudos to my wife. Chris love your episodes and is a great channel.
wow Bill Evans in this day and age for $40 is an amazing deal as well! Thanks, much appreciated
Great story. Records value is always up to the buyer. If you love that record and want to enjoy it spend the money. Well done. Enjoyed the video.
Wonderful news. Exciting when events like yours happen. Congratulations!!!
Congratulations, Chris! What a great story, thanks for sharing it with detail! Didn't know about the framed cover so very informative as well.
Thanks for this video, very interesting insight into record valuation. I have not spent that much on a record, but totally get that it is a great value and an exciting find. Thanks for sharing!
Great story, great record…and a huge congrats!
Great story. Congrats on the record!
Thanks for sharing that, and congrats!
thanks!
learned a lot today,Thanks
Congrats!
Enjoying your collection stories.
Interesting channel.
Good choice of KEF LS50 monitor speakers, tho I'd recommend you not crowd them with LPs. They need free air to image properly.
I Hope you have a REL subwoofer or two to get full range sound😊
Anyway, I'm happy to enjoy your recommended favourite artists vicariously.
I stream them on Qobuz.
Personally I'm happy that the Music is being preserved for folks who don't have time or £ to track them down on plastic-unobtainium.
🎵🎶😁🎶🎵
thanks, yea I do love my Kefs. One reason I chose them is their size, which goes along with my lack of space, which unfortunately limits me on where I can place them. I do try and give them as much space as I possibly can from the wall behind them, but I agree it isn't ideal. I have them paired with a single Kef KC-62 subwoofer which does have the dual drive-units and I feel like does a nice job

Great choices!
What's the wood part between the speakers and isolation stand please?
I use the same black LS50 model on Acoustic Energy AE1 lead filled stands with Rel subs in my living room system.
The Kef kc62 must be terrific for your limited space!
Hope you get a chance to hear Jazz played thru the Magnepan LRS (thumbnail) with RELs when space isnt so limited.
Staggeringly good BIG sound for a resonable price.
Great story. How does it sound?
We're you almost hyperventilating, metaphorically, when you put your hands on that grail. I have several times.
Especially when I had my hands on original John Coltrane Love Supremes mono and Stereo.
You know roughly what the record is worth, and you want to pay quickly and get outta the store before the owner changes his mind. This is such a fun hobby, and you have an outstanding channel.
It is that adrenaline load that you get when finding what you found. Keep up the great work!!!
So what is difference between framed and not framed? If you said I must of missed it. Thanks.
No worries, it's at the 9:30 min mark, but it has to do with the cover construction and how the paper was folded over the cardboard. The earliest Blue Note titles have this "framed" cover which is visible with a subtle sort of indentation in the upper edge and left edge of the front of the cover.
hey Chris how do we find you on eBay?
Cbwayo is the handle
Cool, your kids will probably trade it for a Taylor Swift album when you fall off the perch. 😂
No kidding
You should have asked for the price of all them gems on the wall 🤢
Again, Whisper not is terribly out of tune between Morgan and Mobley. No comparison with Peckin Time, for example.
When you inspected the record and realized that it was misidentified as a non framed cover, did you tell the owner of the store? It's one thing to find a rare record in the bins of a thrift shop where treasures are expected to be found now and again, but I find this story morally questionable. Record stores should be supported, not taken advantage of.
I don’t feel like buying a record from a store at the price they set is wrong. In fact the only time one should ever purchase anything from anyone is when your value for the item exceeds the asking price.
I’m sure when you go into a record store and see titles on WaxTime and DOL, you tell the owner that those titles are morally questionable right?
@@adammazza The thing is, WCB seems to spend a lot of time and energy on ebay ferreting out misidentified pressings of rare records and then posting screen grabs of them with a wagging finger on his Instagram. The irony here is that when he found a misidentified pressing at a record store he stayed quiet because it benefited him. He can't have it both ways without being a hypocrite. As for DOL and WaxTime, I don't understand the relevance to my point. Is it that stores that sell DOL and Waxtime deserve customer behavior like that of WCB?
OMG now I need to return every good deal I've ever gotten otherwise I'm a bad person
