HI DEBORAH THE TRUCK HAS A NO PAINT CAB AS IT IS A ALUMINUM CAB! IF THIS IS NOT THE SAME ONE THERE WAS ANOTHER ONE THAT WAS ALSO POLISHED AFTER PAINT REMOVAL THE I -80 TRUCK STOP MUSEUM AT WALCOTT IOWA HAS AN STAINLESS STEEL CAB, AND THE RESTORATION WAS COMPLETED JUST BEFORE THE ATHS ANNUAL CONVENTION IN DES MOINES IA 2017 IT IS MAGNIFICENT!!
I drove one with 320 hp 4 x 4 speed ttansmission and sqhd rear axles. No engine brake but a Kenworth 42' sleeper. I was 16 Years old hauling an aluminium tank. What a those days!
I am pretty sure that is the guy Dingle KWs on you tube. Has done quite A resto on that rig. Glad guys take the time n $ to do that. He say why the engine wandered so dramatically? Never heard A 220 run like that
Jdigger4130 He said it had been sitting for almost 30 years. Both the engine and trans were seized up. Used some hot motor oil in one location of engine to free it up some, rocked the truck around and eventually dragged it back to life.
These Acars were far better looking than any KW or PETE They were king of the road in the 50's & 60's on the east coast as The petes & KWoppers weren't sold on the east coast until the 70's.
Edgcomb Steel in Greensboro, NC had one that made many deliveries before company moved all NC operations to Charlotte. I've always wondered what happened to it.
autocar built some damn good trucks back in the day i drove a 1978 auto car constructor 2 with a 318 Detroit it was a garbage truck could not kill that truck
It has a tandum driveline!! If you're going by the off load with the one axle spinning it needed to lock-in the power divider!! Watch it close 2 rears back there!!
They should make a model kit of this truck just like it is PERFECT. That silver and blue really is the most beautiful paint scheme.

I drove one like that in the late 60s hauling steel. It had a 250 Cummins and two four speeds. It was about my favourite of all the trucks I drove.

Now that’s a fine piece of machinery!
That thing is beautiful.
wow! what a piece of trucking history!
That is a lot of hours go in reskining all the panels in a aluminum body like this Autocar, very nice restoration.
Very nice, Thanks for sharing!

DailyDieselDose So cool! I dig on him using the orig mechanicals! They're only original once. Looks like a great show
Needs pump overhualed. My '65 Emeryville did that until pump overhual. They get an air leak around the throttle shaft that causes a surge.
that's a thing of beauty , makes my sticker peck out lol !
StumpjumperVideos 😂😂
Nice old school truck 👍

Magnificent.
Love the bare metal look, nice truck
I like that. Its got a mechanical 220! No Way !
Delorian of semi trucks! Looks like it's stainless, I'm used to the cab over autocar garbage trucks, that's what I drove for a while, big Cummins
Hhaha! In this case, highly polished aluminum although Autocar did make 3 or 4 stainless steel trucks for a steel company in PA back in the late 60's.

A collector did buy it, at least it's safe.

Without question.
Esse caminhão é o do filme de falcão??
Que caminhão lindo.
Beautiful truck! Too bad it only has one drive axle.
It has a tandum driveline!! If you're going by the off load with the one axle spinning it needed to lock-in the power divider!! Watch it close 2 rears back there!!
This looks like the same truck from movie OVER THE TOP 1987
Sylvester Stallone drove a semi truck just like that in the movie Over The Top.
Over the top
To bad they extended the chassis of this truck, ruined it.
