I only know of this game because it was part of the library of games on a snes emulator that some guy installed on my old PSP. I remember beating it through save states. Good times.
I had to give this one a shot because I like this style of game. It has a bit of a mixed reputation with some liking it but also many who don't. And while it has some issues, I couldn't deny that I was having a lot of fun playing this game and wanted to come back to it. It definitely one that people should try for themselves. I'm glad I did. The SNES is a weird system for me because a lot of the "best" games you hear about don't do anything for me, so I have to dig deeper for things like this.
Then you “don’t feel like playing” a solid side-scrolling beat-‘em-up that’s faithful to its source material. What was the point of even saying that when you spend the rest of your comment praising the game?
Hi. I love Mazinger Z but it's shmup version is extremely hard in the sense that it's unfair (no way to dodge in most cases). It's not as fair but extremely challenging as Bug Princess.

This game should have been realeased for NES/FAMICON not for SNES I loved Mazinger Z but the graphics of this game are too basic for SNES and the Control is not very good, Mazinsaga for Sega Genesis is a better game
The entire object and level design of this game is abysmal. How tall is Mazinger? Is it as big as a building? Or as small as a human, or smaller? Because entire cave system where a massive Robot can fit in, and even battles hundreds of other robots sounds not legit... I know, I know, its a game, and a lazy old-school manga/anime from an entirely different era. Keep the nostalgia goggles.
I mean you could say that for any other robot anime during those times, but I don't get why you can say the manga/anime is lazy as if you could do better

I saw this before I saw Gigantor or Astro Boy when I was a kid. This was my introduction to giant robots.
TRANZOR Z!!!! Channel 22 out of Pittsburgh used to run this and Voltron after school.

Me too. And you know what? That was an ok version too.
Yes it did not suffer as MUCH as other anime did....such as Go!Lion/Voltron.
Tranzor Z was my introduction to Mazinger too!

Sounds like bad emulation or config issues. Try to use higan or Bizhawk for the best hardware accuracy and don't mess with the audio options.
