Sub70 having their demo program sold me on a set of 659tc irons. I tried the cb and tc and found I actually hit the tc better. The dt4 steel gives such good feedback and the feel on good hits is amazing. And I also noticed that off slightly heel hits or low it performed very well which is my tendency to have my bad hits.
I have a combo set of cb-tc and mb in raw finish and absolutely love them! Feels amazing and just flat out performs!
Some of the very best DTC irons out there, hugely underrated considering their price point 👍🏻
I know here in the US Sub70 has an excellent demo program for majority of their clubs and not even the big OEM’s do that. And they do nicely blended combo sets too.
They really are the unshouted mainstream Direct To Consumer brand that provide many if not all the range that other brands do at a lower cost. It's certainly an option that the majority of golfers could easily use 👍
PLEASE LIKE the VIDEO, also if you have a question or comment please place it below and I'll attempt to reply to as many people as possible 👍
You can get fitted for Sub70 at their Hereford site. I hope they are more robust than the Eleven hybrids, my pal has had a set for 6 months, and they are distinctly worn to requiring changing. That said, the Sub70 and Eleven stable are offering great value, good R&D so definitely worth considering
never stop making this videos mate. appreciate all you do
also how does dt4 compare to something like 8620? Any direct comparisons or just depends on iron / shape / etc.
Very close between these two. It could go either way but I'd say DT4 is slightly softer in feel 👍
Sub70 really deserve to become more visible to the mainstream users. Reviews like yours ought to help on the brand recognition and also to shortlist the irons for many.
I want the owner to get money but everytime these small goldmine companies get that money they raise prices and worsen their products. Sad dilemma, hope sub 70 stays underrated not overrated
Another great video thank you… any chance you can review the Bettinardi iron? Love the channel
Jay, how would you rate these against the Wilson Staff CBs...besides the shinny chromy-chrome!! I have the WS CBs and adore them.
Very small differences, its more so in looks and the DT4 may be a touch softer but the Wilsons are already really good. Would I see these as an upgrade, probably not no, but definetly as a solid back up set.
Love fresh brands with good quality that don’t fuck you simply because of the name on the clubs.
How do these compare to the 639 cb irons from Sub 70?
Basically identical so literally no performance differences whatsoever, from my understanding the 659's replace the 639's but they are running along side each other currently. A slightly different aesthetic so I would go for whichever you prefer the looks of and if there is a price difference between the two 👍👍
why no titleist iron reviews?
Mainly due to not being able to get hold of anyone in Titleist to arrange media samples for review.... Getting hold of a human being seems almost impossible 🤷😕
Your stance is incredibly wide for a 7 iron and this is restricting your shoulder turn on the backswing. Can you please try a much narrower stance to check if it improves your strike?
Does this mean that Tour players shoulder turns with Driver are less than their 7 irons due to their stance being wider?? It's not, so although I understand your logic, it doesn't 1 change my shoulder turn relative to my hip turn and 2, it wouldn't affect strike in any particular way.
Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍🏻
Nice polite reply to unsolicited golf tip Jay. Classy move. @@AskGolfNut
Still way too much in the way of cliché knowledge out there that has been proved to be unsubstantiated rubbish.... Still being taught to so many golfers as its an easy sell to golfers that have heard the same bad information.
Good coaches always find the most initial resistance from students when actually speaking the truth but get the best results if the student trusts the process. 👍🏻

A drive is a powerful swing with a long club, it demands a fairly wide stance.
A 7 iron shot requires control, not flat out clubhead speed. Too wide a stance will add tension and restrict upper body movement.
See Xander Schauffle or Justin Rose iron swing on you tube.
Regards.
Everyone is different, I unfortunately haven't got time to be drawn too much into a detailed conversation, I would say though that over the years of Coaching and Custom Fitting, I've taught many very good golfers and they all do it differently from person to person, really the only ingredient you need to be a very good player is speed and control. Generally even with control and the reduction in speed, the handicap increases... Same as when you have speed but lose control, handicap increases. Flat out I can swing a 7 iron just a touch over 100mph, I sit comfortably at 91-92mph, driver 121 Max, 110-111mph normal....
I am definitely fortunate enough to be in the very few percent of golfers that play to a certain standard.... I don't think my golf ball cares about how wide my feet are apart, all it cares about is how I apply the club face to it and how hard it gets hit 👍🏻
