You just nailed it, sure it’s easy to see _why_ he’s made it, but anytime looks account for anything in the male world, you’re going to be judged negatively for it. Men don’t live in the world of beauty, Matt, having done comedy for over 10 years, would be MORE respected by fellow comics if he was unattractive. Attractive people don’t really belong in comedy, sad to say it, but it’s the last thing the unpopular ugly dudes have in life that hasn’t been taken over by jocks and pretty-boys. Dane Cook had the same issue when he was young and blowing up, men didn’t respect him because women loved him. I don’t find Matt that funny, I’m surprised he’s been in comedy for a decade and only does average crowdwork.
Bapa and his duntze is basically a business partnership. She owns it, he works for her, he needs it bc it "motivates" him. It actually works. Regardless of outside appearances, he made it.
