@@TetonTenkara This one is essentially an urban stream. Gets a lot of pressure from the adjacent campground in the summer but nice and quiet in winter.
And the bonus was the fact those pretty little browns were largely unexpected. I guess at one time there were a few brookies up in that pocket water but I don't think there's a surviving population anymore. I do love exploring tiny water with a featherweight tenkara rod! Thanks for the comment Jared! Hope you had a good trip over to Little Paint.
@@blueridgeflyguy9551 Yes Mike, it was a lot of fun picking out the pockets. Frankly I think you could do much better than the Rivermaster. I had to modify the heck out of it just to make it fishable. In fact, I think I get just as much reach with my Nissin Zerosum Oni Honryu 395 (and BTW they make a 450 too 😉).
Nice waters, beautiful trout! Thank you for sharing your trip.
@@larrygrove5649 Thanks, appreciate your kind comment.
That's some beautiful water! I still can't get over that there's trout in Iowa.

Man o man! The higher up that creek goes, the more tenkara it looks! Beautiful browns in there with those par marks!

@ nice! Poor brookies though! It was a good trip! 15 or so in the lil creek and two nibbles on the big creek!
Gary, that small creek is my jam…Thinking (still) about a longer rod like the Rivermaster but worried about how they cast.
