Oulton Broad South Level Crossing

Wednesday September 21 2022 at 18.28. The 17.16 Ipswich to Lowestoft (18.40) train. Something went seriously wrong here. Oulton Broad South station is about ¼ mile away and it seems that the crossing should be activated when trains stop there. But the train couldn't have spent 8 minutes in that station. The crossing was activated 12 or 13 minutes before it was due at Lowestoft (a five minute journey). The train must have been about 5 miles away on the edge of Beccles when it was activated. 48 vehicles were queued on the far side alone.
