I wish I knew about this earlier. I used wet washcloths that I would fold, place in a snack baggie and freeze, then wrap with square of this fleece. Not very practical, but this is so much better. Kudos. I’m post-op TAH-BSO, the edema was hideous. Genius, hot and cold and reusable.

I came looking for the information as I remember you mentioning it somewhere else. Now I must find someone who can buy and bring it for me. I can't order from my country but this would be great! Thank you.

Sorry I just heard you say CVS carries Private Packs - this is an excellent video and I now realize I shouldn't jump to comment during the video because you will get to the answer. Thanks so much.

Haha, don't worry about it. Story of my life - I always ask questions early and then hear the answer later - I totally do not mind at all :)

#1 Where can I buy private packs and what is the cost? #2 Can the warm private pack be used as a substitute for soaking before applying the clobetasol? At age 76 my ability to soak isn't possible and even the shower I use a shower chair. I have noticed improvement in using an emollient and showering before using the clobetasol. I sincerely thank you for educating me.

Hi, Sandy :) 1) If you are in the United States, you can get them at CVS. If you are in the States or in another country, you can get them online. If you get them online, but sure to use my code THELOSTLABIACHRONICLES at checkout to get 15% off of your first order. That is totally fair and not a problem. Many people do not have a tub or cannot get into the tub; in those cases a shower is more than fine. You can also order a sitz bath online (Amazon has many models) - you basically put it over your toilet seat, fill with water, and soak the vulvar area that way. Whtaever works for you :) So glad you are seeing improvement - with love, Jaclyn

Speaking of perineal tearing… can you apply Clobetasol on those tiny vulvar tears that LS commonly causes?

I've never seen this topic or question explicitly addressed in the medical literature, BUT, what I have heard most LS specialists say is that yes, it is safe to use on the cuts/tears/fissures. Just be gently as you rub it in around those areas. You may also want to consider using a barrier cream like Vaseline or something with that texture in between steroid applications to help create a barrier between the wound and external things like urine (which can sting if it touches the cut).

@@thelostlabiachronicles I very much appreciate this info and you’re taking the time to reply! It’s an area that is so darn fragile and thin. I once had a gyno cause a tear and bleeding there during an annual exam. She apologized profusely and said she barely touched me. And the dryer the skin there is, the easier it is to cause injury.

@@LoveABun I should add, that applying steroids to tears *may* cause slight delayed healing. This is *sometimes* used strategically by LS specialists because it allows the wound to heal "open". Having it heal open, *may* help prevent future tearing by creating more space (but this is *not* guaranteed). I'd definitely recommend the barrier cream in between steroid application and as much as possible, prioritize rest and stress reduction :) (and yes, I know, easier said than done).
