I don't know what DJ Hidden was fed with when he was a child, i heard him play live, i know his songs, i know some of his other projects and many of his mixes, i can't remember one piece I don't like.
This guy does his thing for years with an incredible quality, i hope he goes on many many years.

Trying to work out the mixing techniques, seems like master sync (if it's there why not use it, lets you play more tunes in a set tbh), with a lot of bass EQ action/switching, together with mostly low pass filter on the big knobs under the EQs. Also some other FX on the "colour sound" knobs, with some live looping too. Mostly ingnoring the crossfader too, just using line faders. Sounds great. edit: I don't think he's using Master Tempo tho, probably pre-prepared tracks in key without losing quality with Master Tempo pitch algos.
I grew up mixing vinyl but i'm starting to realize that some of these sync/filter tools on CDJs help make better sets, even tho I spent like 5 years teaching myself to cue and beatmatch on vinyl, and scratch with the x-fader haha. sick set
Hello - I would like to comment on this a bit as there are a few minor things that are different from your observation.
I actually do not use master sync but... as I was spinning with two decks, the master automatically got assigned to the active deck. I don't mind this and usually, it's not an issue. At times though, I sometimes turn it off or turn off the sync button as it sometimes goes on by accident... and as I sometimes have tempo changes on my grids, I do not want it on.
That said, I actually beat match all tracks by hand but... there's a little trick that you can do in particular situations that can be helpful: if you quickly press that sync button on and off again, it will align your track with the currently playing track better. It might sound like cheating and to some, maybe it is... but especially in situations where you can not hear the monitors that well and using your headphones to check whether you are doing a tight mix is difficult too, this can be helpful. During this set, I had a fire alarm blaring (for a while) and I couldn't always hear the tracks that well... on top of that, I had not spun for a while so it helped to sometimes double-check if I was mixing properly: I actually was but it still helped to make sure I would not have to correct things later on.
Also, with different tempos, CDJs are not always accurate enough: even if you have a tight mix going on, due to the clicks with the pitch control, you can have tracks that will gradually sound off again as it is impossible to align the grids perfectly permanently. So, for example... a 175 bpm track at +3 mixed with a 174 bpm track at +3.6% will sound tight for quite some time - but at some point, it will go off the rails. This is because the percentage for a 174 should be +3.59%. A quick fix is essentially the same as giving the jog wheel a push, it's just more tight. So you basically just have to click that sync button on/off really fast and it your tracks will re-align to the grid. You do need extremely tight grids for all your tracks though, so making sure everything is 100% in Rekord Box is a must.
A good rule of thumb when beatmatching is that .6% increase and decrease, by the way... it will help you to mix tracks faster and while it isn't entirely accurate on all accounts, it will already help you to get the pitch close to being right.
I also use a lot of loops in order to mix tracks and make sure they drop at the same time and so on. I also use the A,B, C (and so on) cue buttons to switch to parts of the tracks I want to play.
I do not pre-prepare my tracks in key but I do have them sorted in key in Rekord Box. That way, I can stick to a particular key and then switch to another one when it feels right: I often do this by just applying basic music theory: notes that belong to a particular chord or sometimes even ones that purposely create a dissonant atmosphere but then allow me to drop into a slightly different key.
I never use the cross-fader as I don't really feel a need for it. Also, as I am often spinning with more than two decks, the cross-fader usually just becomes something that is a distraction/hinder than anything else.
I also started off with vinyl and I can still do tight mixes with the format. At some point though, I switched to digital players as I think they are more convenient, they usually do not skip and you have all these neat little tricks you can use to create better and faster mixes. I do not see anything wrong with using technology the way it is available: in the end, the end-result is what counts.
