I got my journeyman card at local 1974 nyc tapers union this year with a company doing high rises, everything you said is true out here too. Cranking out poor quality. I had to leave and go back on my own and I'm way happier.

Same thing happened here in Chicago I work like you said it 8 months per year if I lucky I work 10 months union is getting worse every year
I noticed the round corners. Was a big thing here a few years ago. Now it’s chamfer corners. Are you using mud set or Glue staple

Same story bro, my dad was a hanger 20 years, I was Union taper for 5, decided to go residential as contractors and been surviving ever since😂
