How do 4 siblings, orphans, stick together when the baker and his wife want to send one away?
The kids run away and find a box car for a home. A small shelter hideaway during a terrible storm.
The 4 children with no mother without a father, got a lot smarter by working a lot harder, by being self starters, working for a nice doctor in his field, picking cherries and veggies for him to barter.
And every day while they were working and thinning, sweating away across the days they needed a place to clean up. They built a dam creating a pool so they were clean and cool. And was a place to keep their milk from spoiling.
And then the flyers came, put out by Grandpa James, the man searched for his grandkids but he didn’t know their names. And the orphans were afraid that their Grandpa would be so mean, they stay in their hideaway to keep from being seen.
Now the word got around about this thing they called a field day
Everyone in town came to compete and race and just to play
The oldest of the orphans ran the race and won the game
And the Town’s gonna know their name, What’s your name man?
Henry, Jessie, Violet and Ben, yes we’re the Boxcar children. We don’t need no supervision. Just you see, just you see.
Then Violet got sick, the doctor came to help, and he took the kids home to take better care of the girl. She began to get well, you could tell
Their grandpa came in…and found his grandkids
Moved in with their grandpa, their Grandpa turned out to be real kind. Now the kids had family, they weren’t afraid, they changed their minds. Henry, Jessie, Violet and Ben… now had a home, and a really happy end.
