Hagi’s left foot man. Unbelievable. 70 percent of his goals were scored from outside the box. That is pretty impressive. Not sure about today’s generation but I wouldn’t be surprised if this would be some kind of record. One of the all time greats for sure.

They were very good but not the best, peaked at U.S.A 94. Had Yugoslavia stayed together I think they would have been the best.

Of course, the 90s was the golden era of the Romanian national team, but I prefer the Romania of the 70s: Dumitrache, Dobrin, Dudu Georgescu, Crisan, Iordanescu, Lucescu, Dinu, Boloni, Balaci, Dumitru...
Would love to see some footage of these players.........see how they compare to the Romania players I knew... (Lacatus, Dmitrescu, Balint, Hagi, Popescu)
Este trist nu doar ca am pierdut o generatie de jucatori de valoare, ci si pentru ca am pierdut un comentator de exceptie. Cristian Topescu a fost, dupa parerea mea, cel mai bun crainic sportiv al nostru. De cate ori ne paraseste un om de valoare, societatea noastra devine mai saraca. Ar fi bine sa apreciem valorile cat sunt in viatâ.Din nefericire, mai avem mult de munca in privinta mentalitatii si comportamentului nostru.
Ian Rush, la al treilea gol inscris la Bucuresti...precedentele doua in semifinala Dinamo - Liverpool din 1984, mansa a doua. Atunci golurile lui am semnat eliminarea echipei Dinamo din competitie, insa golul din 1992 a fost doar unul "de onoare".

Chiar daca 2 goluri au fost pe greseli de portar ,la noi se vad scheme si trasee exersate la antrenament . Cornel Dinu era antrenor ,iar echipa noastra juca un fotbal modern .

Not weird. I feel sorry for him too. Just one of those games where they all fly past him and he can't do anything about the goals.
@@r4h4al the first half of the match was insane , they stop all the engines after the pause break ,allowing to the visitors to score a consolation goal ... in the second leg , in Wales was a different type of match , Wales looking for revenge and gave a good display , 1-1 and a penalty in the 63th minute , failed by Bodin , i remember , he hit the bar...interesting if it was 2-1 for Wales ...who knows (still 30 minutes at disposal for both teams to play) , Raducioiu scored 2-1 in the 82th minute and... DESTINY IS ALL ! wait... this is not my phrase :)
the weird thing must've been Romania scoring so many goals... there was never a doubt about the quality of play, it was either good or excellent, but the finishing was usually below par, at least those are my memories from the 80's and 90's

@@nutotiziaristisuntcorecti184 Bodin a ratat in minutul 63 ... totusi daca marca pt 2-1 mai erau 30 minute de joc , Romaniei ii trebuia doar un egal pt calificare , in timp ce galezii erau obligati sa castige meciul ...asa s-a scris istoria...si noi am pierdut calificari in meciuri decisive ...Hagi daca marca din penalty in Bulgaria ,unde eram obligati sa castigam ,eram si la Euro 1992 prezenti ...dar a ramas 1-1 si s-a calificat Scotia ...apoi soarta a fost cu noi in acest meci din Tara Galilor...ei au ratat penalty si in loc de 2-1 pt ei ,s-a terminat 2-1 pt noi , cu Raducioiu marcand golul decisiv al calificarii in munutul 82...asta e viata

Nu, era Lung in poarta. El a jucat in acele preliminarii pana (inclusiv) la dezastru de la Kosice, iar ultimele 3 meciuri le-a jucat Prunea.
Stelea era in poarta, nu Lung.
Mar Cel Ce contează cine era in poarta? Puteau sa joace și fără portar tot câștigau. N-ai văzut România 7 suturi la poarta Wales 0. Ce echipa de vis!
