My paternal side of the family used to speak Şêxbizinî Kurdish (sounds a lot like Kelhurî or Lekî) in Central Anatolia. Most family members don’t speak it anymore, but some of the few words in that dialect that I know are the following:
- Kid, kids: Zaru(w), odax
- Father: Wok
- Mother: Dalik, Edik
- Daughter: Döt, dötte
- Son: Kure
- Brother: Brange
- Sister: Xweyşik
For grandparents, we don’t have specific words. Most say just "ebe" and "dede" as in Turkish. Uncle is the same as Kurmanci Kurdish, ap/am for paternal uncle and xalik for maternal uncle.
Aunt: Mimik - used for all kinds of aunts, but mostly sister(s) of your mother. Yenge or vavi (bride) is used for the wife of your uncle or brother.
This is very helpful! What about nieces and nephews? Her Hebi Gulê….🌻
Thank you 😊

Can you teach me anatomy and physiology words in kurmanji? Like intestine, stomach. High and low blood pressure. High sugar, legs, feet, toes, bones, gallbladder, bladder?
هل يوجد كورس من البداية حتى الاحتراف؟ الفيديوهات المتعددة تشتت الذهن احيانا، وهل هذه اللهجة مستخدمة في شمال شرق سوريا أم كوردستان العراق؟

First of all: thank you for your work.
I have two questions:
How do I call the Husband of my xaltîk? And how do I call the Husband of my metik?
You can call them XAL or AP - no different terms
