If Kenya will ever have a Music Hall of Fame, Them Mushroom deserve to be inducted in the list as one of the most amazing group and also well composed songs ever written such as Hakuna Matata & Nyambura nakupenda! Their originality and influence has greatly impacted the Kenyan music industry for decades! Thank you CTA for highlighting this amazing legendary work by Them Mushroom.
'Jambo Bwana' took me down memory lane to my childhood days in Western Kenya, when I used to listen to that song over the radio and sing along to it. I just loved the way the instruments seemed to join in the singing so beautifully.
When they played Jambo Bwana at Eden Rock that day we went together, even the Chef came to the Dance Floor. Bro I was by the pool area enjoying Mutton and a cold beer. Had to leave all that and go record
Katana told me they would come to KBC all the way from Mombasa, and wait at the gate. Once they see Mambo Mbotela, they'd give him a tape, and off to River road to get a bus back to Mombasa
