This will enable us to continue putting on a great show and support artists and performers for many years to come. Thank you!
This is like home to me. I grew up southern Louisiana (Lafayette/Opelousas). I heard music like this for many years.
This is the envy even of France, which no longer has meaningful music in the French language.
Every time I listen to this kind of music I feel more closer to my Québécois heritage. ❤

Greetings from the south of Spain. You have fans even in the land of flamenco. Your terroir is true
Merry Christmas friends.
I love French-Canadian music from my fellow Latins the French Canadians. Here an American born in Argentina, I also love the French language but I have been too busy learning the world's lingua franca English to have time for French.
I first met these lads back in 2008 at ICONS and they were so amazing 🤩 I’ve been a huge fan since!
Incredibly inspiring. Thank you for sharing that! Over an hour of dancing around the room 🙂
Le Vent du Nord are amazing!
Vive Quebec et vive Le Vent du Nord!
The French-Canadian resistance to total acculturation to the English language is an example of Latin independence.
Ô mon pays c'est un chant que j'entend sur le vent. Ô mon pays c'est un cri vers l'infini sur la vie🌹
Being a fluent Spanish-speaker, I have little trouble understanding what they sing. Also, when I visited Montréal years ago I loved people's willingness to speak to me in Spanish rather than English, this as a courtesy.
Not only do I already love Quebecois music, I love these guys even more! I started with La Bottine Souriante, and then stumbled upon Le Vent Du Nord! Absolutely fantastic! I have 4 of their albums!
I didnt bow those groups were known outside of Québec its always nice to know
You should give a try to Genticorum, another great band from Québec !
I agree absolutely full heartedly
A man of culture I see.. No more seriously it's nice to see people giving our music a chance without insta shitting on Quebec.
"Jawstine Troudeau"... Gotta love that "inside".
Members of the band, if you read this: Thank you so, so much. You guys truly embody and emit the tunes, feelings and the beat.
Watching people the other side of the Atlantic dance to these guys while they are barely known here in their homeland Québec make me cry.
Visit Montréal one day and you will feel how Latin their culture really is, just like in France, Spain, or Italy.
@@RicardoMartinez-oh9sq lol... I live in Montréal. I know. 😏
@@Dr_Do-Little I loved Montréal when I visited it. It made me feel Latin, which here in the US I do not feel.
Have been listening to this on repeat all day at work. So grateful to have found these guys. It's wonderful they keep this more traditional music alive. Thank you for posting!
Love these guys. Superb musicians and their a Capella singing is just brilliant. Seen them a few times. Can't quite understand the Quebecois French sometimes but that doesn't matter. The guy with hurdygurdy is Nicolas Boularice. Fiddle Olivier Demers, accordion Rëjean Brunet, guitar Simon Beaudry. Réjean's brother Andre is now with them. He plays fiddle . I am hooked!
*Boulerice (not Boularice). I am glad you like this fantastic Québec band! Very proud of them indeed!
I only "discovered" this group last Christmas 2019 and have not turned back! Great Celtic tunes and instrumentation. Language is not an obstacle to their great musicianship!
Vous êtes juste incroyables , merci.
Merci !!! !
Voilà, from Toledo, Ohio, USA.
Le Vent du Nord, one of the few ways I can revel in my Québécois heritage.
We the West's Latins are a big extended family. I visited Montréal years ago and in spite of my basic French (I am a native Spanish speaker) I felt totally at home culturally speaking. I wish I have had more time to learn French but learning English at the college level has been a full-time job for me.
I love that Quebec foot stomping - I know how to do, it but only for one song then the leg muscles give up!
It is amazing, isn't it?
Maudit que J'adore Le Vent du Nord ! Quel groupe !
Moi aussi !
I enjoyed their wonderful music in the small Indiana town of New Harmony and would love to see them again live. - Merci et bravo
So excellent! Props to the fiddle playing + foot percussion chap! Can't wait to see ye again!

High energy, superb musicianship. Saw them at Celtic Connections 2020 - sold out performance. Fabulous.
I love the step dancing fiddler. A jaws harp, vielle a rue and a fiddle! What can be more traditionally French. C'est si bon!
I saw them perform last night in Boston at the MFA. They never fail to disappoint. Their music makes me happy. Chair dance through the entire show.
Saw them for the first time at the Lowell Folk Festival and have seen them every time they come to Boston.
Love these musicians!
Never succeed in disappointing?
Tres interessant!!!! Merci beaucoups!!! I portray a French Blackrobe missionary priest at our old fort and have never hear of Le Vent du Nord until yesterday. I will be exploring your music! Vive Montreal!! Vive Quebec!!! Vive la France!!
Saw Le Vent du Nord in Earliville NY last night! This band is so talented and fabulous! One of my favorite nights ever! Thank you!
Saw le Vent du Nord at Shetland Folk Festival 2022- superb but even better was the session on the overnight ferry back to Aberdeen. Brilliant! 🎻🎻🎻
!
I first heard them at the New World Music Festival in Randolph Vermont. So much talent and energy.
just found this, where have I been? great, thanks, it is a music of good folk
Normandie France
They are first rate. Love the hurdy gurdy and old tunes of Montreal. Come to Bury again, messieurs!
Saw them a few days ago at WOMADelaide 2018, with André Brunet making up the quintet, and they were absolutely brilliant!
That smile is like a sunrise.
Saw them live at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall during Celtic Connections a few years ago. The place was jumping. Absolutely brilliant gig.
I first saw Le Vent du Nord when I attended MMLA, the high school version of Middlebury Language Schools. I did the French program, and the French school took a trip to visit Middlebury College for a Vent du Nord concert. I also saw them at Francofolies in Montréal. They were fantastic!
Can't wait to hear you this Saturday at the Albuquerque Folk Festival!
I get to see them play live soon for the second time and I'm so excited!
I have no idea what they're saying in French- but I love Canada and this music!! Greetings from NYC!! 😄
Me encantó.
Love these guys; heard them in Pittsburgh and Bay Harbor. Am a keyboardist and would be happy to show up and learn!!
Excellente performance !!!!! Bravo !!!!!!

Shrewsbury festival, i dont mind the adds, go get that sweet sweet add money. But could you please make sure the adds are not in the middle of songs? Thank you.
listening to this was a great warm up for tomorrow in Madison.
What wonderful music! Is there a playlist so we know the names of the songs played? Hoping to see these talented guys soon!!!
Their performance in Boothbay Harbor of this song (and every other) was like this- fantastic!
This is excellent.
love it
Wonderful band!
Bravo Bravo je vous adore !
Vive Le Vent du Nord et tout les Francophone !
WOW !
Love the Hurdy Gurdy and the man who is playing.
Fabulous, fabulous band. A well-played hurdy gurdy is always a marvelous thing, but every member of this band is an incredible musician.
Bienvenue chez nous !!
J'aime beaucoup

These men are just wonderful!!
Hope to see them here in Canada one day.
They are Canadian. Their repertoire is predominantly Canadian, also.
Carol Cripps
But it’s Québécois. Which make them totally different from other Canadians.
Virtual concert at NAC Ottawa, March 20th 2021. Buy your tickets!

Merci! I had wondered how it was spelled.
❤️❤️🙏
I did not know they were canadians. What is that wierd crank instrument ? I love to play along on my bongos & harmonica. There is one song I can really play well on my bongos ! So much fun !
It called a "Vielle à roue", a old instrument almost never used anymore but it was huge back then in France and French Canada
Hopefully I make it to their set at WOMAD NZ next year. Absolutely amazing.
Bonsoir mon nom est Réjean Brunet !!!
Freaking timestamps, where are they?
Does anyone happen to know this setlist?
Does anybody know what pickups Olivier Demers (the violinist) is using? Thanks!
Go to their website (leventdunord.com/en). It has e-mail links to contact each member of the band. Just ask him!
