full face! good base layers... heated gear....neck gaiter....and great gloves.....those extremities get cold fast. You need to look into a pin lock bro.

I’m a new rider. I just got my first motorcycle the other day(Saturday10/29/22). I didn’t realize I would spend all day at the dealership, and forgot my leather jacket at home. Was wearing a flannel and a sweatshirt.
Long story short, I didn’t actually get my bike and get on the road until the sun was down because all the paperwork. I had a 3 hour ride north to get home. Within an hour of riding, the wind cut through everything I wore and I was froze to the point where I nearly crashed. I stopped at a truck stop and bought a few sweaters and sweatshirts, and put them all on. At that point I had on 6 layers. Unfortunately there was no leather at the truck stop and my dumb ass forgot to buy a jacket at the dealership, because again I figured I’d be home long before dark.
I hit the road again, in my 6 layers, and within 30 minutes the wind cut through each and every layer again until I was shivering uncontrollably. I stopped in the next town and got a room for the night, finishing the ride a couple hours after the sun came up the next day.
    What a learning experience.
Since I got home, I haven’t ridden without my leather once. Makes all the difference to be wearing the right gear!!!
Great video. Info every new rider should know. It might not even be that cold out, but if you’re going 50+mph into the wind and it’s winter, you’re gonna FEEL it if you aren’t dressed properly.

That’s what I call a horrible experience. You will be telling this story for years to come. The cold will make a grown man cry. I’m happy you made the wise decision to call it quits for the night.

I acquired heated gear when a friend bought a used bike and all the gear, It fit me and not him so we traded gear for a seat. NY winters SUCK, just yesterday I rode at 7 degrees plugged in , and yes rain gear is in the tour pack , ride whenever you can , so far this year 17,300 between 3 bikes

Have you ever been to the Motorcycle leather store in Warm Springs, GA? I seen some good riding jackets and gloves I might get.

@@ridefitnation that is the plan because once your hands are numb hard to have throttle control.
