I've had Harleys AND Hondas. I've toured on both and I'm not jealous of either one. Just two different types of machines. Granted I don't need tech, when it comes to Harley's I actually prefer the older ones with less Tech.
Totally agree CH!! I have a 2008 GL1800 and it runs great. My wife loves it. Had a Harley-Davidson, she didn’t like it at all. Even after I put some mods on it. She’s a GOLDWING GIRL and I’m good with that. Thanks for sharing 👍🏾👍🏾😁
Hahaha.,.,I tell you what, you seem to talk a lot about Harley Riders. Good wings are good bikes, but as a Harley rider and mechanic. The reason I ride a2009 and not a new one is because the wrenching on the is a lot easier than working on a good wing. I do agree with you, that if your afraid of a recall, you shouldn't be riding.
My favorite saying is you buy what you like I buy what I love 🥰, I have 2 goldwings cause I love this bike, there's nothing you can say that is going to make me buy anything I don't want. My 2nd favorite saying if I buy a 2 story house and you like a 1 story flat should I sale my house cause of what you don't like?? 🤷🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️

I guess the major difference would be the amount of stock features both bikes offer. Since HD is all about paying extra for add ons, I guess Honda here would have advantage over HD.

Well, like @roadglide said, I love my bike. If it crapped out on me all of a sudden, I might swerve into the other lane and get a Harley but for now, I’m very pleased with my current bike. It gets the job done for sure and as you can see in my videos, it can eat up the miles. It can go and go and go. When the first announcement of the recall came out; I just kind of blew it off because the bike was in the garage anyways no big deal. Everything can have a recall at some point. Man, you know that HD owners were waiting for this recall lol. We are currently in HD country (Daytona Bike Week)... Kake and I walked into the HD section and stayed there all day with our Honda shirts LOL. With all that said, every brand has had a recall, be it major or minor. "Long Live Gold Wings." Hey Craig, great to see you out riding along the river. Just to clarify cause I'm not sure...so you are saying you would not trade in your Gold Wing for a Harley? LOL, cheers Dave
I’ve owned all kinds of bikes to include an Ultra for almost 10yrs. If I were you and you wanted the Harley experience I’d keep the wing and add a road king to the garage. Take the wing when you want to travel problem free, and do local trips or overnights on the Harley. If you want the tech throw a CarPlay unit on and use your comm system. Most Harley riders trade every couple years for very little gain. But I know you have a few bikes already so what’s one more 😂😂😂
I have an older Goldwing 1800 and I also own a Harley Heritage 114. Both are good bikes. I do feel like manufacturers really push new products no matter what they are because they know there are people out there that have to have the latest and greatest thing. I try not to fall into that trap. I would like to have a new Goldwing, but right now mine does a fine job. Maybe when I get a lot of miles on it I'll look at getting a new one. Same with my Harley or my other bikes I own. Like you said just buy what you enjoy and ride.
i understand trading from a 107 and under engine harley go for the new 24 but if you have the 114" i dont think its a good idea to trade at all.. Could be just me but i would save the money and just fix the 18-23 model year Harleys up to the way you want it and keep driving... Now I will say i have been debating on trading my 21 Harley Ultra in for a newer Golding DCT.. Only because im tired of buying stuff all the time for the harley to keep upgrading lol. and i heard the Goldwings run very well and no need to do much at all.. And Wife rides with me alot
I am definitely keeping my Goldwing. The thing I like is that you really don't have to do anything to a Goldwing. Other than comfort upgrades. The engine is fine out of the box. Ride safe!
I wouldn’t say it’s jealousy more ignorance. I have owned multiple of both. Rode my 2018 GW for until last month. Much better suspension, brakes and tech. Until I rode the CVO ST. Infotainment just surpassed Honda. Brakes and suspension on par with the GW. Granted this only applies to the CVO ST. Waiting on mine to come in. I love to ride. Brand is secondary. My GW still has a lower center of gravity. I’ll check on the next gen of the GW when that comes out.
