Hi, glad it helped. few years ago now and my gun is still going strong. Mkke
This was really helpful and I enjoyed it. You should make more videos like this. All the best.
Thanks for the comment
The blade on my maestri gun is stuck forwards, ive taken it apart but i can't remove it from the magnets. How can i release it?
hi mate thanks for bringing this video, dose the mechanism fit all the Maestri model?
Have the 606.
Hi yes they are all the same apart from the blades and spacers for them, mike
I’ve just looked at this video as mine is playing up. Firing and then stopping. It’s the switch getting stuck I found. 👍 great video. Really helped me out.
Hi glad it helped, great staple guns. Mike
how did you repair the white switch? as my white switch has lost its return ability
@@rayteagle5866 I just ordered another switch. I searched ME606 switch, Checked it was right code, has a little code/number on it. Old one Should just pull out and then put a new one in.
Great video, do you find the guns fire the staples/brads flush with the timbers surface, and would you recommend them?
hi, with a bit of practice getting the right pressure yes.
I’ve just bought a new one, I went for one that didn’t say “3second delay” but it’s turned up and has 3 second delay. Can I remove the delay switch? Because I don’t have time for that
Hi funkymike my staple gun when I fire it the front plate keeps falling off the pin going through the metal clip on front is slightly can i buy this part and do you know the part number cheers j
Looking to purchase one of these to install seat covers on motorcycles!
Any idea if it is upto the job?
Yes
Hey I have the same gun and I’ve taken it apart because it wasn’t firing consistently I’m noticing that the switch is not returning to position after being pushed to fire do you know where I can get a replacement switch?
Hi, if you look closely at it, you will see a part number, its a generic switch so ebay or rs components will have one. Mike
Thanks!
hi is there a way of knowing if the circuit board isnt working ?
Hi, it's a simple board, so you could either use a multimeter or get someone to check it, but easy to replace and proberly the cheaper option, I would say the switch itself would fail before the board unless its been shorted. Mike
whats the model of the staple you were repairing please? Im looking for a electric stapler for upholstery .. im keen on the maestri but unsure on what model to buy ?
It’s the ME3G/71 I’ve just bought one from H Webber & Sons, in Dorking who were very helpful. I bought 10mm and 12mm staples from them too.
Hi. I’m a carpet fitter and have had my 606 repaired several times by an independent flooring wholesalers who does in-house repairs but the problem keeps occurring. The issue that keeps happening is after 3-4 staples are fired the gun jams and the plate moves with 2-3 staples being jammed between the plate. I’ve dis-assembled my gun and the only fault I think I recognise is the blade. Mine is not broken but seems to have a lot of movement where it’s bolted in. Before the gun was taken apart I looked at the blade and it sits to one side more then the other like it’s loose ( the place where it hits the staples). My questions are
1. Is there suppose to be much or any movement from where the blade is bolted in at the top?
2.if there is movement how much as it feels quite loose and I don’t believe that’s correct.
3. How do I tighten up the bolts holding the blade at the top of the gun as the bolts are tiny?
Thanks for the video also, I’m sure you’ve helped a lot of carpet fitters with it.
Hi Scott, shame your having an issue, they are simple machines, 3 things you need to look at, 1 is there a metal washer type thing that sits under the rubber bung, it sort of guides the blade, or it could be broken, 2 as you say the blade could be bent, 3 the staple carrier at the rear of the run, below the cable, is it fitted correctly and inline, if your looking from the rear, it should be on the right side of the molded handle and it either has a little plastic spacer or its molded onto the case, depending how old it is, its approx 4mm in size.
your questions, 1 yes the blase moves as only held in with a split pin, hence the washer to guide it.
2 again yes it is loose, as mentioned above
3 as mentioned its a split pin, unless of course they have changed it.
also i take it you have the correct staples, and sometimes a squirt of lube on the staples and carriers help.
Hope that helps, let me know
mike
Just a quick question sir I'm just a beginner I'm fitting my own carpet on the stairs will this machine work on carpet
Hi, absolutely it works really well, I've used it for the same, mike
Hi can I have the link for the blade repair kit please
I have staples 606/12 I need them shorter .where can I buy them.
Hi, easiest place I found is ebay. But most upholstery supplied carry them.
how do you repair the white switch? mine has lost its return abilty
Hi if you unplug it( take a picture before for wire reference) and go onto any component website like RS components or ebay too, there's a number on the switch, only cost a few quid to replace. Mike
What sort of power does this gun have? Is it adjustable as I recover pool table cushions.
Hi use it for upholstery and constantly stapling into beech rails, works fine, also done a few plastic motorbike seats and no issues.
And no not adjustable
Mine now and then fires 4 or five staples like a machine gun.
What do you mean, I it faulty
@@thefunkymikeexperience.3570 Yes it's faulty. Fires several staples with a single pull of the trigger? Wondered if you knew a fix?
@@TOMBSTONESTAN yes sounds like the staple blade is either bent or broken. Take the front plate off and have a look, remove the staples first, as you have to fire it to see, I assume you have the right staples?
