What a humble guy John is. He always makes time for these interviews, even though some of the questions can be repetitive he really seems to enjoy them.

A great interview with a great director..and editor, and by sounds of it real great bloke, I wish I could I've done what John did and gone to the studios asking about a job when I left school in 1981

It was so good to see John Glen and hear his career experiences and how things were so different in the "old days". Loved those perspectives of working with various actors.

Wild Geese is one of my alltime favourite films, and me and my brothers can quote entire scenes!

The Wild Geese is a great film, it’s is highly political in some ways so I can understand why they had such huge problems getting it made. Not a film that’s shown now, too many racial references which would offend people (you’ll see what I mean when you watch it) Bought it from the iTunes Store but it would be great if maybe a 4K release was ever done. Don’t know if anyone else had this experience but I was maybe 14 or 15 when I first saw it on ITV and unbeknown to me that was the edited down, remove all the bloody violence, swearing type stuff. It was a bit of surprise when I saw the full version about 6 years later! 😂 one other side note and I’m sure this had been mentioned elsewhere, but Roger Moore is driving a white Jaguar XJS if I remember? Interesting that I think the Return of the Saint had exactly the same car…was that a cheeky nod to the new series?

Really great interview, some nice questions and you let the guest speak, I get so fed up with interviewers constantly interviewing the person we are supposed to be listening to. 😂 So interesting his comments about the way he made his way up through the business. Incredible to start from almost nothing to end up where he was (directing one of the biggest franchises ever). I work in retail, and I meet lots of bright, intelligent teenagers who want to work in film or music, they go to college, then university. By the time they come out they are in their mid to late 20’s and into a flooded market place with no real experience (even though they are talented individuals) So many of them I used to know end up working for financial institutions, or back in shops!

Mr Glen served as Editor and Second Unit Director on my favourite Bond, “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.” Also on two of my other favourites: “The Wild Geese” and “The Sea Wolves.” His career as director reached two peaks: “For Your Eyes Only” and “Licence To Kill.” It’s fascinating that he rose in the industry via the same route as Terence Young and Peter Hunt - the editing room.
Mr Glen is absolutely correct in stating that the Bond films have been taken for granted by the critics and film academies. The old snobbery does prevail.

Give me a John Glen film over anything directed by Spielberg, Scorsese and that twit Tarantino any time in fact I'd rather watch any film from any British director over any American director

Why isn't John Glen a knight-bachelor? I mean, he is a national treasure, is he not?
