Cheryl: Part of that fantasy is I exist in a world where everyone wants me to be prom queen. I hate the fact that Cheryl s been hurt physically and/or emotionally her entire life and that includes the 4 seasons of Riverdale but I d understand if Toni eventually dumps her, because it seems shes starting to become a little too self absorbed lately.
It makes me think it was one of those "oh ok" and walk away moments where he'll then go and start a crushing campaign against her and in the end she and fangs will win. I mentioned that in another post with someone, except for the Kurt and Karofsky winning. The only issue though about Cheryl and Fangs winning is that Cheryl would still have an issue with that because Toni is not her Queen as well, she'll look at it like it's an attack on her Lesbianism per se. The person I had this exact conversation with said that Fangs could think the same way, but the only difference is that Fangs wouldn't stop anyone else from competing as well, and also the fact the Kevin and Toni don't really want to be King and Queen either.

We know from spoilers that Toni will be the Serpent Queen post time-jump, but the way she’s fixated on getting that title back irks me. Just because she’s a “legacy” Serpent does not make her above or immune to the rules, which she broke in season 3 and was rightfully exiled for breaking. And what about the Pretty Poisons? Will they be forced to merge with the Serpents? What about those who don’t want to become a Serpent? Can they stay as an independent gang? There’s so much wasted potential with them, it makes me sad. That, and it’s a waste of a perfectly nice jacket
I want the serpents to be the only superior gang but I agree with the Toni acting entitled part. She broke the rules and she can't expect to just be gifted serpent queen title without redeeming herself to the serpents

I’m not saying they shouldn’t give her character more depth or write the relationship better but it’s riverdale, there is very low standards and to put it bluntly Cheryl is number 5 on the call sheet and Toni is much further down the list. She is meant to be a side character, yes there are shows that do a great job in developing side characters but riverdale isn’t really one of them unless they are majorly important to the plot (like the villains) while Toni’s main role in the show is helping to develop Cheryl, just how originally it was causing a problem between Betty & Jughead.

How they wrote Toni’s character in the first couple of seasons was fine because she was just a supporting character but the minute they decided to make her a main they should of had plans for her character separately. She should should have her own arch and problems while also being Cheryl’s gf bcuz she’s a main just like Archie, Betty, Veronica and jughead.
@@donnathomas5342 To be quite honest I wasn’t even sure if Vanessa was a series regular or not, I think the problem is they have so many regulars on this show that is mystery driven in a plot sense that they hardly even developed their main characters before adding more which leads to the lack of backstory and storylines for those new main characters. I do agree they should’ve at least had some Toni focused or at least semi-focused plot lines with characters other than Cheryl in mind before making her a regular. For example Kevin hardly has any storyline comparatively to the rest of the ‘main’ characters and he’s been there since the beginning and same with Josie before she left, they have a revolving door of villains (obviously ) and they spend more time focusing on them rather than developing characters like Toni and Kevin.

Cheryl needs to lighten up just a bit only because when her and toni first got in a relationship she eased up and things that were bothering her settled a bit since toni was around and cheryl was being a bit nicer. There must be something bothering her again because she is back to old cheryl. Also, on Madelaine’s ig story yesterday she reposted a tweet of someone hoping that cheryl would be happy again and not cry as much and she responded apologizing for disappointing so with that being said I believe there is something new bothering cheryl...

How did she not get any character development at all? Okay I love Choni and just the thought of them breaking up breaks my heart but they need it. They need to break up before the time jump and then get back together bc rn it's just too toxic for Toni. She's doing all the work in the relationship and that's not how it's supposed to be. I think if they break up, it will give Toni time to get her independence back and she can go back to being the intelligent, fierce, badass, character we all knew and loved in season 2. I think the break will also give Cheryl time to reflect on the relationship and maybe grow as a person bc right now she's not thinking of anyone but herself and it's pretty annoying. The character Cheryl is fine but I always disliked how they forced her and Toni in a relationship together to please/appeal to the gay community when they have never fit together at all. I believe they ruined so many good storylines/characters for this relationship imo. Loved Toni when she first came on the show S2.
I don't even ship them anymore because toni isn't even a character at this point. She is just there for '' diversity'. Give her a personality, an arc all for herself.

Okay I love Choni and just the thought of them breaking up breaks my heart but they need it. They need to break up before the time jump and then get back together bc rn it's just too toxic for Toni. She's doing all the work in the relationship and that's not how it's supposed to be. I think if they break up, it will give Toni time to get her independence back and she can go back to being the intelligent, fierce, badass, character we all knew and loved in season 2. I think the break will also give Cheryl time to reflect on the relationship and maybe grow as a person bc right now she's not thinking of anyone but herself and it's pretty annoying. After all this development, they can get back together (after the time jump) bc they are for sure endgame.

The character Cheryl is fine but I always disliked how they forced her and Toni in a relationship together to please/appeal to the gay community when they have never fit together at all. I believe they ruined so many good storylines/characters for this relationship imo. Loved Toni when she first came on the show S2.
