Dragon type before Gen 6: A great and pretty powerful type to use. Dragon type during and after Gen 6: *Then everything changed when the Fairy nation attacked.*
Here's an updated version: Gen 5: the only thing to add is the specialist is Benga, Alder's Grandson and the final Boss Trainer of the Black Tower in B2 and White Treehollow in W2. Gen 6: the only thing to add is the specialist Zinnia, who has a major role in the Delta episode of ORAS. Gen 7: the only thing to add is Alolan Exeggutor, which MandJTV forgot to add. Gen 8: the new pokémon added was Regidrago, added in the DLC of Crown Tundra. The new move was Dragon Energy, the signature move of Regidrago, which is a clone of Water spout. Gen 9: the new pokémon were Cyclizar, the 3 forms of Tatsugiri, Baxcalibur, Roaring Moon, Koraidon, Miraidon, Walking Wake, Dipplin and Terror Storm. Off these the mascots of Scarlet and Violet and Cyclizar would make by far the biggest impact. The new moves were Glaive rush, Baxcalibur's signature move with 120 BP and 100 acc that has a negative effect, which makes it so if Baxcalibur uses it, and doesn't K.O. the target, it's next move will not miss and will deal double the damage. And the other move is Order up, the signatur move of Dondozo. Normally it only does damage, however, if an allied Tatsugiri activates its ability Commander, Order up will give to Dondozo an increased stat depending on which Tatsugiri activated it. If it was the Curly form, it will give to Dondozo a +1 attack. If it was the Droopy form, a +1 defense, and if it was the Stretchy form a +1 speed. The specialist is Hassel, art teacher of the academy and elite 4. Please like this comment so more people can know this info. I will update my comments whenever we get new info.

When I first played Sheild, I was confused about the Fairy Type. It had been years since I played Pokémon; the last I played was Platinum. Fairy type took me for a ride for an entire month because I was clueless about it 😂
Gen 1: Poison was literally everywhere, and the best move for it was Sludge, exclusive to the Muk Line, and the Weezing Line. That’s why Psychic types were busted, because literally over 1/5 of the entire dex was Poison. Some Good Poison Types were Venusaur, the Nidorans, Tentacruel, The Rocket Duo, etc. Gen 2: Sludge Bomb helped Poison STAB a lot, but it lost it’s super effectiveness against Bug, so it got balanced out. Idk about the rest
"The purpose of mega evolution was making underpowered Pokemon good"? Come on, it was stated that the idea started with "We want to make MEWTWO stronger".
Breaking Swipe is very widely used because of its ability to lower stats with spread. But until recently Dragon Darts was very common as an attack move for Dragapult (and lots of people used Dragapult in some way up until the latest VGC series). But it became more common to use Dragapult as a support Mon that could set up G-Max Coallossal, set up screens, or reliably burn opponents.
16:00 I would argue that with ice shard being a priority move, being physical, and the fact that almost all dragons have a flying or ground subtype to weaken them that most ice types not being fast wasn't an issue but fair enough.
I don't think the fairy type needs a nerf. The reason that fairy type Pokemon are so strong is their type combinations tend to be really beneficial. Honestly, a few more decent poison and steel type moves that are more widely spread would keep them from becoming like dragon, which still manages to be overpowered even with fairy doing it's best to check them.
@Sapphire Dragon I think you are stupid. Hydreigon has the speed of 98. That's faster than most fairies, especially if you exclude Tapus and Xerneas. Sylveon only has about 65 speed. While Sylveon will tank a flash cannon, it won't with an Iron Tail. Hydreigon only has 2 less speed than Salemence and 4 less than Garchomp, and Garchomp is know for being fast.

Personally I feel like goodra should of been a dragon/water dual type. I feel like it fits since it only evolves in areas where it’s raining, it lives In Swamps, and it looks like a water type. If they made it learn more water moves than I think that they would pull it off great. Plus we don’t really have that many dragon/water dual types.
Alternatively: it’s a Dragon that’s also a Snail. It would’ve been the PERFECT Bug/Dragon-type!
Or Poison/Dragon!
Poison/Water maybe because it just doesn't look like a Dragom

Petition to make a ‘Poison type Pokémon: Then vs now’
Gen 1: Poison was literally everywhere, and the best move for it was Sludge, exclusive to the Muk Line, and the Weezing Line.
Excellent idea!

Ampharos, Charizard and Sceptile : "Finally we are dragon type now!"
Fairies : "Hold my moonblast".
Eh, Charizard can take it. Remember, Fire helps cushion it against Fairy attacks.
I don't think the fairy type needs a nerf. The reason that fairy type Pokemon are so strong is their type combinations tend to be really beneficial. Honestly, a few more decent poison and steel type moves that are more widely spread would keep them from becoming like dragon, which still manages to be overpowered even with fairy doing it's best to check them.
it needs to be weak to fire, and should only resist dragon, then maybe fairy type would be balanced and fair.

Just like Freeze-Dry was introduced to destroy Kingdra.
@@Brad-Ley I think freeze-dry is more like the killer of rain teams. Pelipper, Kingdra, Ludicolo and Swarmpert are all 4x weak to it.
@Sapphire Dragon actually, Hydreigon is IMMUNE to Psychic, and can counter back to Fairy Types with Iron Tail or Flash cannon
@Sapphire Dragon -_-
