G-DRAGON is literally the one that started everything cool that bands now has fr, light sticks to dying hair , to being ambassadors of luxurious brands , he was the first one to get chrome heart into korea , he did a lot for the industry in his prime time he was like literally michael jackson like in the industry, now people trying to discredit him , like or not he is the KING of kpop, it's not about the views or Large audience It's about how much you contributed and did for the industry ❤
As an old school kpop head, GD really is a living legend in Korean entertainment. Not just music, but fashion as well. So it's amazing that he finally made a comeback, even after dealing with military service, the whole scandal with seungri, then drug scandals...he hasn't had it easy.
I recommend MichiGO (I think its GO on UA-cam), Coup De Tat, and for Big Bang I really recommend Loser and Fxxt It. Those are peak bigbang energy from day one.

Him and T.O.P from BIGBANG are some of the best rappers in the Korean industry. Their lyrics often have double meanings, wordplay, and are highly artistic-even if you try to translate them into English, the meaning won’t be as impactful because their lyrics are packed with metaphors and nuances.
For context, GD became a rapper at 13, and he writes his own lyrics-he’s been a rapper since he was young, not just an agency-trained rapper. As for T.O.P, he originally came from the underground rap scene. In fact, he was the first underground rapper to become an idol. Unlike GD, T.O.P already had a solid grasp of rap from the start, even in terms of articulation, which is highly praised in Korea. When you listen to T.O.P rap, you don’t hear his breath at all-that’s why he’s one of the few who’s hard to rival. He understands beats, knows when to improvise, and when to switch flows-he’s the king.
GD and T.O.P can’t really be compared; they’re balanced. While underground rappers often mock or diss K-pop idol rappers, they don’t dare diss GD and T.O.P. There’s immense respect for BIGBANG.
Both of them mostly idolize East Coast rappers.

for Big Bang as a group i think the best place to start is their final album - MADE. tho in my opinion it's the live performances where they shine the most. their MAMA stages are legendary, absolutely a rec as well.
Big Bang and 2NE1 were my introduction to kpop back in 2009 when i was like 11. they and their music will always hold a special place in my heart, no matter what happens. it's frustrating that they ended up the way they did but it is what it is ig.

People don't get how big he is, he speech, even the way he walks, can affect the whole of South Korea, not just in the entertainment scene but even politics affected by G Dragon, in Korea as the whole north n south... He's influences in Korea are literally bigger than Michael Jackson in America. He speech, talk, manners, affect all other industries like the business industry, tourism, technology, education, real estate, law, even medicine, that's how big he is .... This man is not just about money n stock prices, he himself are just that important
We had 88 months with no GD and he came back strong. He's the living legend. But, don't just focus on his music...when you find the reasons for his lyrics, it all makes sense. He signed with a Palestinian owned record label here, showing his power. ❤

Knowing you a bit I think you would enjoy Zutter by the 2 rappers of BIGBANG, GD and T.O.P. Btw, T.O.P is the first underground rapper to become an idol and still be accepted by the underground rappers of Korea. He is also the first deep voice idol making it a requirement for future Kpop groups to have a deep voice in their group. Unfortunately T.O.P is no longer part of BB but you will see him soon in Squid Games 2, he’s the one with purple hair.

Just for context of this song : Gd was accused for drug use earlier this year, just because someone who was involved in drugs just randomly dropping names of celebrities, GD proactively went to the police station and proven his innocence (with all the negative tests,thus "he got the receipts") , prior to clearing his name, people easily judged him but at the end ,even the news reporters made a public apology on him (to avoid being sued) . So Gd explained this song is for the media and haters. Btw, he also launched Juspeace foundation and spend money on it ( to fight drug abuse and supports rehabs) thus the "donating millions grin" lol.
Taeyang of Big Bang influenced Jimin of BTS and they did a song Vibe. Big Bang has left their influences on so many Idols in each generation of K-Pop.
