It's an obvious mistake. The horse shouldn't have run over two miles in his career. It's the only reason why he isn't unbeaten. He got away with it last season because as we have seen on many occasions that the two mile novices were not very good. The trainer seems obsessed with this speed idea. It's bonkers, he was never in a million years a Champion Hurdle horse. If they had to run him at Christmas then the obvious race was the three mile Grade 1 novices chase at Leopardstown. A small field, and none of them are exceptional. If Sir Gino is as good as the talk he should run all over Ballyburn, and hopefully, the trainer will finally learn the lesson. He has two choices for the Festival, either don't run (and most likely go to Fairyhouse), or the Brown Advisory. The problem with Mullins is that he would rather shuffle the pack than run horses over their optimum trip. If two horses have the same optimum then just run them against each other, don't try and get away with it. Mullins gets away with it because we have a press that never criticises, and it seems he has a bunch of owners who just let him do what he likes.
@@markmcevoy323 Just the kind of replies I have come to expect. It's your choice if you want to just carry on believing the fantasy that he never makes a mistake. In my world everyone makes mistakes. In the racing world the media just ignore them. I spent what seemed like the whole of last season arguing that Ballyburn should run in the Gallagher's. He did, and he was the most impressive winner of the meeting. You can get that when a horse runs over the correct trip. Unfortunately, rather than appreciating the performance, the trainer was still whining about not winning the Supreme. This year I have no financial interest, but I would like to see what's best for the horse.
As I expected I was 100% correct. The trainer is totally responsible for the two defeats on Ballyburn's card. Absolutely shocking placement. He was very fortunate the horse didn't come down at the last. That would have been a disaster.
Big shug , what stable you riding for , cant see ur name on any jockeys tables or bn previous winner of any titles , but unfortunately opinions are like ass holes everyone has one , even you , posting crap.
More from Patrick here in 8 minutes than what you get in an hour plus elsewhere. Ballyburn gets that little wink
